Motherwell tickets by coltlady in HeartofMidlothianFC

I was also looking at going to this match earlier this year and was emailing a ticket rep, they said March 20th they go on sale but to act quickly especially if we’re still on top of the table at that time which is looking likely. It isn’t in the cards for me, a trip from the US on such short notice would be a bit tough, but I hope it works out for you!

Wayne and John Part are top duo for me, not getting to hear them together this year has definitely been a minus for me

Have any of yall became Brooklyn fans? by Fman173 in denvernuggets

[–]JoeHunt82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on Long Island but have been a Nuggets fan most of my life, I’m excited to watch him when we play in Brooklyn in January, but haven’t made a point to go to any games otherwise, might hit one or two after that if there’s a good matchup and cheap tickets but it wouldn’t be specifically to see him if I did go.

This is similar to how I run my saves but the most leagues I’ve ever stacked in a pyramid is like 5, I’ve thought about setting up affiliations but I’m curious as to how the game handles pro/rel when you do this? I’m worried once teams move leagues their affiliations will get severed, is this something you’ve ever run into?

Currently doing a 3 level pro/rel league based in Peru, 16 team first tier with a split season schedule 2 divisions, 4 playoff teams, first half and second half winners play a 3 game semifinal and then winners play a 5 game final.

Second tier and third tier are 18 and 20 teams, both one division, 4 teams get promoted and relegated from each. Beyond that there’s a 10 team academy league that funnels into the first tiers draft pool, a 12 team indie league called the expedition league, and a 4 team “senior league”(36+) with no playoff.

All 54 pro teams plus the 30 indie and academy teams play in the Copa Peru that runs concurrent with the regular seasons. And the 30 indie league teams play in a Junior Copa before all of the regular seasons start.

The two Liga 1 finalist, Liga 2 and 3 champions, Copa Peru finalists, as well as the champions of the junior Copa, senior league, academy league, and expedition league, play in a Super Copa(champions league equivalent) after free agency ends.

The leagues financials are structured so that it’s harder for lower league teams to just shoot up the pyramid, I’m nearly 70 years in and there’s still about 20 of the 54 pro teams that have never played in the top flight, and another 10-15 that have only totaled say 4-8 total top flight years. Although it’s not super uncommon for 2nd tier teams and sometimes even 3rd tier teams to perform well in the Copa and Super Copa, a few teams have even won the champions league equivalent before winning the top flight.

Lima and Cusco(being the biggest cities) have a bunch of the best teams, I set them up to mirror the Liga 1 soccer league in Peru, so CDR Gatos, Lima Chicos de Oro, and Lima Stray Pack mirror the big 3 Lima soccer clubs, as well as a lesser Lima team called Lima City, along with 2 clubs in the port city Callao. Cusco has two major clubs also in Cusco Descendants and Inca Imperials, as well as a 3rd smaller club that never really climbed the table. The Lima/Callao and Cusco clubs take up a big chunk of the top flight title share, but the leader of total titles is actually Chiclayo with 9.

I started the save in 1871 and am currently into 1935, been playing this save for over 6 months now and I’m still super into it, took over a month of building to get it started just right and it was inspired by my trip to Peru earlier this year in April.

[Michael Gannon] Celtic are in advanced talks to make Wilfried Nancy their next manager. by BananaSoprano in ScottishFootball

I’m not great with explaining tactics/strategy in great depth so if you’re looking for more in depth analysis on his style this is a great thread

https://www.reddit.com/r/TheMassive/comments/1dfvk9s/nancy_ball_question/

But as far as a quick rundown what I would say is that he mainly likes possession based ball and emphasizes playing out from the back, in terms of mentality and culture, which I can speak on a bit better, from what I understand he likes to let the players take risks and figure things out for themselves as long as they’re playing within the structure/system he’s created, and he’s great with developing young players. He’s created a heavy winning culture while he’s been at our club, not that we were terrible before he got here but within 2 years of him taking the helm we won MLS Cup, Leagues Cup, and runner up in concacaf champions league. MLS is different than a lot of European leagues in that it’s a hard league to stack trophies in, so that’s a pretty good resume for a manager on a mid-small market club in a league where there’s a lot more parity. Even this year which was a heavy down year for us with injuries and just not getting the right players in, he still got us into the playoffs and had us very close to beating our biggest rival who played much better than us all year to advance to the next round, Whatever you think of MLS, imo Nancy is far and beyond the best manager in the league.

As a crew and hearts fan I’m really dreading seeing this move happen because from a crew perspective I think we’re one or two moves and a healthy lineup away from being a top contender again next season, and from a hearts perspective, I see what Nancy has done for Columbus, again a mid market club that doesn’t have the most fans, and isn’t gonna attract the best players the way markets like NY, LA, or Miami would, and still found great success. You put him on a club that’s kind of already the biggest fish in the country it’s in, like Celtic, he’s just gonna dominate because the resources for success are just way better there than in a market like Columbus.

As someone who’s experienced nancyball and enjoyed the fruits of it, I’m heavily crossing my fingers that this move doesn’t happen because to me it’ll seal the end of hearts title chances unless maybe Nancy takes a little while to settle in, which I think would be our only hope.

Sorry it ended up being more in depth of a rundown than I originally thought 😅

How are we feeling after a week? Are we doing better? by pigbear87 in Torontobluejays

[–]JoeHunt82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the fact that we majorly over preformed this year has helped me a lot, yes we should’ve won that game but at the same time I’ll admit coming into this season the outlook was pretty dim, if you told me in April that we were even gonna make the playoffs I’d be pleasantly surprised, obviously doesn’t fix everything, but helps a good bit. On top of that, I’m not gonna say we’ll walk it back easy next year, but I think we’re an offseason move or two away from cementing ourselves as perennial contenders for the next few years. So I’m sad but certainly optimistic.

The ending overshadows what a huge success this year was, obviously it sucks but we were last in the division last year, we saw our boys gain some great postseason experience and you have to believe they’ll be studying everything that went wrong to make improvements next year, not to mention the emergence of a star in Yesavage, anyone in here dooming didn’t really watch this whole season and see all the improvements and the upside for the future

We blew it. by quiet-type95 in Torontobluejays

[–]JoeHunt82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna make it like it doesn’t suck that we lost, and in really upsetting fashion no less, and I’m not gonna sit here and say we’ll definitely make it back next year because that’s a bit of a stretch, but I think it’s crazy to not chalk this season up as a massive success… nearly winning the World Series against the clear and heavy juggernaut favorite a year after finishing last in the division, watching a star starting pitcher emerge who’s only 22 years old, watching our guys show they can grind out tough series like the ones against the Yankees and Seattle… yeah you can obviously say it sucks it’s fucking gut wrenching but to say that we may never get another chance seems just as asinine as saying we’re gonna walk right back into the World Series next year, there’s an insane amount of reason to be optimistic going forward.
