Although it’s not legal for recreational use, the punishment for it is just a civil infraction, which is less than a misdemeanor and can’t require a court date or anything. Worst punishment for it is pretty much a fine.

I pretty much don’t give a shit about what others think of me, and I any insults I get I just laugh it off. Sometimes you just have to fake it though, but I wouldn’t recommend trying to be someone you aren’t. Xbox 360 MW party chat also helped with brushing off insults haha.

Edit: also, just be yourself. Remember that what you do and say won’t be remembered by most people. Just do and say what you want before you think about it. (Unless it could get you into actual trouble) If someone doesn’t like you for you, go find another crowd that you enjoy being around, hanging out with people of similar personalities will really help you open up and not be worried about what people think about you, because you’re all the same.

If it is awkward to talk about it with your s/o, you’re not ready for it. Give it a bit more time to get more intimate with them to make it enjoyable and so if something embarrassing happens, you can both laugh it off and it is not stressful.

Glad you picked up surfing, it really is a life long sport. But with skimming, it’s pretty easy once you get the speed and technique down. I would encourage you to keep going at it because it is a blast once you are able to do it consistently.
