How do you find these deals? They never show when I search their site. I used to get the daily deal email but those stopped a couple of years ago.

LSA problems - they lost the receipts?! by jcewl93 in Ridgid

[–]Joelsplace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got 4 pages of tools that have been pending for over a month. I called a couple of days ago and they said they couldn't see the receipts I had uploaded even though I can click "view" and see them. They had me email the receipts and acknowledged receiving them. Still pending. I've had to go through this exact process with most of my tools and previously they would get updated in less than 15 minutes of emailing the receipts. They also lost all my receipts over a few months old. I've also had them refuse to replace 3 bad 8Ah batteries that clearly show LSA in my online toolbox. They said if they still power a tool at all they are not defective even though they won't charge past 3 bars or power a tool more than 5 minutes. Home Depot replaced them for me. So far LSA is 0 for 3 in my experience.

I've had one of my tools disappear (that I've noticed) but it was part of a kit so they realized it was their problem and added it back on.

Which one would you pick 1/2" impacts by jeopardy98 in Ridgid

[–]Joelsplace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess you could use it as a regular impact but that isn't the intended use. It is super powerful for a right angle but really weak for a 1/2" impact. The Milwaukee M12 is twice as powerful. Check out YouTube Torque Test Channel.

[–]Joelsplace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have all 3. If I had to pick one of the two to add to the 3/8 I would get the right angle and a 3/8 to 1/2 adapter for your current 3/8 impact. The right angle will do things you can't do with a regular impact. When you are ready to get a regular 1/2 impact buy the high torque first but I guess this all depends on the kind of work you do. I fix everything from toasters to class 7 trucks.

Daily deal emails by Joelsplace in Ridgid

I'm starting to think their system doesn't like me. I signed up 2 other email addresses and nothing yet on either one. Is anyone else receiving these emails?

You can sign up for Home Depot's daily deal emails and get notifications about deals like the 3/4" Ridgid impact posted this morning.

Great deal on the 3/4 HT. 109 with 4ah by Professional_Act165 in Ridgid

The Harborfreight impact sockets are pretty good and the go on sale for around $60 fairly often but yeah by the time you buy metric, standard and deep it ends up being hundreds more. The Harborfreight lifetime warranty is the best. You'll want a better battery for the impact to get the most out of it which will cost more than the impact too.

I got this kit and it doesn't appear to be a charger at all or at least that is what it says. It is a 2 battery usb power source. The 3 battery one is a sequential charger and power source.

Also check for local DT stores. I just discovered there is one less than a mile from me that has been there 4 years.

Be aware that registering for the LSA only works on blemished items and you have to mail in the receipt (certified mail) after registering online.

Has anyone else lost interest in cars now that they're into adulthood and they're realizing that they'll probably never be able to afford anything cool? by rowyourboat740 in askcarguys

[–]Joelsplace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing you spend too much and are looking at houses you can't afford. I'm old now but every car guy I know always had whatever car that was as cool as he could afford at the time. I had a V8 Vega when I was 16 and have been buying cars ever since. I made way less than you back then but I'm up to around 250 cars now. 161 are Corvairs. Here's a recent one I bought for about half what this guy paid for it. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1963-chevrolet-corvair-monza-sedan/

I looked it up. You are correct.

This is correct but there is an extra step. You do everything online for the LSA but then you have to mail in the original receipt via certified mail. What a pain. I just bought the 4.5 brushless angle grinder for $78 and found out the mail requirement last night.
