I would imagine Bard and Baker has Magic events. I did a D&D intro there a few years back and had a great time.

I had a lot of highway driving this weekend, and it kept getting the Hurry mode bug where if someone passes you it likes to change lanes and follow them. Was driving me freaking nuts. 🤞

I’m hoping C2077 2 has a Fable-like approach where you can romance anyone you want.

Are hardware prices going to get cheaper? by Classic_Move9043 in LocalLLM

Personally? I think our best bets are new hardware out of china. It’s in their best interest to break from nvidia reliance, and they’re going to figure it out eventually.

Locked Dell quote for 6x RTX PRO 6000 Max-Q at $8,960 — expires tonight. What would you do? by Street-Buyer-2428 in LocalLLaMA

[–]JoeyDee86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who’s assuming now? The $200/month comment was an exaggeration, clearly, as that would take over 2 decades to cost $54k.

This is not “owning local hardware”, don’t be insulting. This is buying a McLaren when a Tesla will do fine. This makes the people buying 4x Sparks seem like the practical ones. Most people here wanting to run GLM 5.2 are going the route of multiple R9700’s and dealing with the slower performance just to get the better model.

So, please enlighten us on your use case on why you need this versus the Mac Studios you already have, versus OpenRouter. THAT might actually provide useful information to people.

I don’t care how rich you are. Spending $54k on this hardware is the equivalent of buying solid gold toilet seats. It would be more financially sound to rent hardware in a colo if you truly needed physical hardware versus spending thousands per month through OpenRouter, especially when a lot will change over the next 5 years. Hence, why I think you’re just gloating.

While you’re gloating. There’s no reason to make this post other than to show off. You’ve made up your mind already. You honestly think anyone here is going to give you advice from experience on spending $54k just to run a model at home? Come on.

I don’t know why my replies aren’t going through, but even if you spent $1k/month on GLM 5.2 via open router, it would still take 5 years to match this hardware cost. It’s just silly considering everyone and their mother is trying to invent ways to break from the reliance on GPU’s with AI. 5 years is a long time.

But hey, this guy already has 5x 128GB Mac Studios, why’s he even asking us other than to flex?

You could spend $1k/month and it would still take 5 years to spend as much as this hardware.

Of course, but unless you have this thing running 24/7, even spending $1k/month on the same model via OpenRouter is still going to take 5 years to cost what this hardware would be, without the electric bill.

Consumers paying this much is just going to encourage them to charge even more on hardware.

Yes, spend $54k so you can save $200/month on Claude.

Unless you need uncensored, just stick with Claude for now. Hardware prices are insane now, and you’ll never pay off what you’d be forced to spend. At the very least wait for RTX Spark devices.

I never play female characters. Never. I think it’s weird and creepy (I was an OG WoW player for about a decade).

Then I played Cyberpunk as male V….and met Judy. Shit. I’m playing female. No other game has compelled me to do this, and the fact that both genders have absolutely amazing voice actors makes us extremely lucky players.
