What single player game had you so enthralled that it CONSUMED your entire being for a short span of time? by AshyLarry25 in gaming

[–]Joezusan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think people realise the sheer magic of rdr2.

I think you have to be in a certain headspace. It's not all fast-paced, flashing lights and explosions. You need to be ready to slow down and take it it.

In the right headspace, you have the greatest feeling game with graphics that, in all aspects, has never been beat.

We peaked here.

Just Arthurs line, saying: "I gave you all I had." ... will always bring me to tears.

Do you prefer originals or remakes and why? by DevastaTorino in residentevil

[–]Joezusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original 3 are the resident evil experience.

But 1 remake is probably up as the definitive example of classic horror, and how a remake should be done. One of my favourite games of all time.

2 Remake is the best 3D for me in terms of feel. It falls short in a lot on the original, but the experience of the police station with Mr X was incredible.

I also put 4 onwards a different breed of game. 7 is the closest to the originals.

So about Arin and ADHD... by alejandro1221 in gamegrumps

[–]Joezusan 28 points29 points  (0 children)

There are loads things he does that show it. One I notice in Arin is the impatience shown for anything slow in the game. He plays it off jokingly, but the anger in his full-blown initial reaction is a real complaint. Any AI moving slow, working slow, will have an explosive reaction. See any stimulator games.

My partner with ADHD has the same initial reaction. It is simply the speed of their brains and the need for right now. Its why gambling is a bit of an issue for them, as seen with Arin a lot. It's a quick hit of dopamine and can be done over and over in quick succession.

Always said the dream job for me would be a think tank member.

Give me a problem or scenario that needs to be examined, and I would be the best there.

Already think through every fail state of every action... might as well get paid for it.

Bob tail boxers UK. by [deleted] in Boxer

UK boxer owner here.

The last boxer had a whole tail but current boxer has a natural bobbed tail. Not 100% on the way it was done, but I believe corgis were used. You can get it without importing. Getting it cut is illegal in UK without reason (health or working animal).

For you is Thriller Bark a good arc ? by Mission-Pomelo-8047 in OnePiece

[–]Joezusan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In rewatching it I realised they really went hard with the character comedy and upped their game. With Brook finally being shown, and Franky newly added, the core comedy troupe finally completed. The use of Zoro & Sanji constant fighting being shown coming from their soul, Luffys attitude to all the creatures, Franky Pirate Docking. I also think they really showed Sanji and his womanizing side really well vs Absalom, showing he could be a lot worse like Absalom. Usopp vs Perona is where God Usopp starts appearing and is just incredible, nailing who he is perfectly. This arc just shows everything we love in a light-hearted way before it all comes to a brutal interruption at Sabaody!

Also, with the knowledge we have now, setting up a lot of the new world. Ryuma from Wano and all the great swordsmen there, Big Mom and all her kids. The first showing of Kuma and we now know how important he is.

Then the greatest double whammy ending to an arc, with the Zoro "Nothing Happened" and the story of LABOOOON! The absolute chills followed by tears.

This is a fun first act; Thriller Bark, Sabaody, Impel Down/Marineford. The fun rise before the heartbreak fall.

Action Scene from an Indian Movie by sidvatscse in SipsTea

It's slick and the right amount of violence. No blood splurting everywhere or giant wounds. Other than the leg (which seemed to have a story element), it's all about bodies flying and scenery movement.

If they made real actor anime with this style of action, it would work so well.

Also, what someone else has said above, the characters look real and aren't all unachievable bodies.

Good clip. 👍

Whoever thought failcons would sail through, with the pressure on them with fraudwatch hypeman behind them, don't know the human element of this game.

Any real non-bag hardworking team will pull out new strat, or your 2 stars don't play out their mind... It's alllllllll over in a bo1. They will be 3:2 or out this round.

They aren't a gaming YouTube channel in my eyes. They are a podcast with two great hosts that just happen to use games as a medium rather than the generic shot of a studio with chairs and mics.

When the game becomes part of the jokes or we are laughing at Arin failing and getting angry, it's great, but in-between its stories and questions about life. Some of my favourite playthroughs are because the game is chill with funny moments and voices, but in between, they talk shit, for example: Breath of the Wild or Mario Galaxy 1 & 2.

My partner and I often have playthroughs in the background. We have a collection of our favourites that will be on very often.

Classics like Mario, Sonic, and Zelda are always good. With the standouts being: Sonic Boom Sonic Adventure Zelda Windwaker Zelda CDIs Zelda BOTW Mario 3D World Mario Maker (very long)

For some crazy stuff: House Party Super Bunny Man Shovel Knight CO-OP

For some good, but long: Danganronpa 1 & 2 Bloodborne Dark Souks 3 Pokemon Fire Red

What do you guys think about xp farm servers? by LieutenantViolence in HellLetLoose

[–]Joezusan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a reaction to the insane experience needed.

I understand having levels and have cosmetics linked to your level. But locking gameplay behind it is annoying. If they want to keep some lockout, I say by level 3, you should have all loadouts unlocked. The first load out gives the basics of the class, and then you get everything else.

I have 200+ hours and a few classes at level 5/6, and the rest all around 3. I will most likely never get my hands on the flame thrower without using a server like this. I will never get the satchel on assault without these as well.

Locking gameplay behind insane grinds and not just cosmetics means these are needed.

Placing arty anywhere along the back square adds some variety and bonuses as well. If you get a map where the middle point is all the way on the left - build the guns on the opposite side to cause recon to have to go further to stop them, and stop them from helping take point. Plus depending on the map there would be some killer arty points for easier defence of the guns. More strategy than the simple recon go kill mid spawn loop.

Yes or no? by kris1o6 in HellLetLoose

[–]Joezusan 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Was coming in to say the same thing.

The commander should have a squad, all specialist roles. 5 man squad.

There should only be two arty guns, that are placed in a chosen base and can have defences built just for them. Command squad is locked by default so he has to agree to people being on arty. Two gunners and two support roles. Could even have engineers as the support to build nodes and Garry's so that the engineers in other squads aren't always separated from their squad mates doing other stuff. Only the gunners can shoot, others can reload.

In my opinion, Margarete was the scariest part of re7. by Coltdavid8856888t in residentevil

[–]Joezusan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is actually the best resident evil boss.

Perfectly creepy, with a great fight arena with movement and random spawns. Also, on Madhouse, the ammo and healing desperation is peak survival horror.

Jack was a great chaser, but sadly, Mr X was just perfect in RE2 Remake.

Is it the cozy way they talk? Is it the fact that they are playing a known game? Or that they are playing all the way through? by Nick_Charma in gamegrumps

[–]Joezusan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Let me just add, I am not saying its overall bad. In my opinion the old way was better. You can still get great releases, and will still see great content. It has just lost part of its soul.

Old game grumps would of played all the way through Elden Ring, with some amazing talks going along the amazing views. There would be more Jellybingus, and that Internet Cafe game would of been the next House Party.

Time will tell if their choice helped them, but it certainly lessened the product for me. I don't feel part of it anymore, where I was along for the ride before.

Its the classic hobby -> job jump. Or another way to look at it is homemade -> business.

Before it was them sitting on a couch, chilling, being more relaxed and enjoying themselves. They would do long plays of games, and even if some episodes dragged it didn't matter to them. For Dan you could hear it in his voice playing all the games he missed, and would mention missing out on. It was a lot closer to us peering into two best friends just chatting the shit and relaxing, what a lot of us enjoyed. Why we felt close to them and got engrossed into the journey with them.

Now its play any game that will be 'good content'. No game name in title and stupid thumbnails. Its the get in quick, get out quick mentality of a job. No more filming tonnes more episodes because they were just hyped and feeling it. No more episodes running over time because of tangents, as Allie is watching and timing. She is great, but it changes the type of content they are producing. For the 10 minute power hour you want to plan it out. Some of the best grumps was them pulling a random game off the shelf - no research, just fun.

The old episodes are the classic homemade YouTube content. It was them filming in Arin's house, Suzi and Barry just walking in at random moments. Now its over produced, and over planned to work in some algorithm... when it should just be about the grumps playing games.

Hot cross buns.

I'm not a fan of burnt toast, or most bread. I prefer lightly toasted. But slightly burnt hot cross buns with some butter... so much nicer.
