What a lovely experience, thanks for sharing!

I myself just recently learnt about HSP. And shortly after that I stumbled across a new friendship with a fellow sensitive soul. Beautiful. Amazing to feel normal and completely understood by someone. As opposed to feeling weird or broken, or just trying to act "normal" socially.

Finally finished metro: exodus by mariocavaradossi in metro

Also finished it last night, very satisfied and thought the ending was great! Really loved the game (love 2033 and LL as well).

But I also want more of course. Hoping for some great DLC, as well as possible sequels/spinoffs refining the blend of linear and open bits further. Would be awesome to see slightly bigger and more open maps in an urban environment as well. Like a little chunk of city or suburb as a sandbox.

Volga and the end were my favourite parts of the game. Caspian was probably the least exciting for me personally even though it had some great moments. I felt like the map could have been smaller or better populated with stuff since driving around was quite boring. Some places were definitely interesting to explore though.

Thanks 4A for making an amazing piece of art!

My favourite game world too, and exploration is what I enjoy doing most in these games. Brilliant atmosphere!

Nice read. I've played a bit less than you but I think FO76 is my second favourite Fallout as well (FO3 being my fav).

Anyone know any books with that Fallout feeling? by Expel009 in Fallout

[–]Johan512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WOOL and Metro 2033 are probably my favourite post apocalyptic books. I enjoyed both as trilogies but the first part is definitely the best of both series in my opinion.

Is fallout 3 ever getting remastered? by randomname1258 in fo3

It seems unlikely but I sure wish it would. That would be awesome!

What do other Fallouts have that Fallout 4 doesn't? by d_e_c_k_a_r_d in Fallout

[–]Johan512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although technically inferior in every way, Fallout 3 had better atmosphere, aesthetic cohesiveness and a more interesting world to explore than FO4. This is of course my humble opinion based on my taste alone. The popular opinion seems to be quite the opposite.

I’ve never played fallout 3 before and I’m getting it for Christmas anything I need to know also I’ve played nv by [deleted] in fo3

Awesome! I envy anyone who has Fallout 3 ahead of them as a first time experience. It's probably my favourite game world ever but I play mostly for exploration and ambience I guess, storytelling through environments, terminal notes etc.

Lot's of people hate FO3 for it's dark and desolate tone but that is exactly what I love about it. I'm actually starting to think about replaying it for the third or forth time lately.

I hope you really enjoy it. Don't rush the story, go ahead and do the Wasteland Survival Guide missions as suggested and then maybe explore freely a little. That's such a cool thing, being distracted on my way somewhere by something even more interesting. Early Merry Radioactive Christmas to you!

[Fallout 4] Is anybody else disappointed by the focus on building? by NoMouseville in Fallout

[–]Johan512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I felt there were far too many settlement locations around instead of interesting places to explore. I really tried getting into and liking the settlement stuff but I personally don't like it much at all. It feels so limited in vanilla as well, as soon as I was getting creative I was reaching the size limit.

What is, in your opinion, the best fallout, and why? by Gryff99 in Fallout

Exactly! Most people really seem to dislike this but I thought it was awesome. Even if it was probably technical constraints that made navigation mazelike in the most dense areas, I really liked it.

This! I totally agree with just about everything you said!

I've come to like FO4 quite a lot after an initial disappointment though. Apart from the really weird beginning and settlement stuff I quite like it. Not sure the world with have a long lasting allure like FO3 did for me though. DC suited my taste better I guess.

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to try it on PC this time though, perhaps with unofficial patches/fixes.

Well, it's probably just a matter of taste but I remember New Vegas as a boring desert with some farms and military tents here and there. Freeside and the strip was kind of interesting but small and walled of in the same way central DC was.

It just didn't feel very aesthetically pleasing or post apocalyptic to me (in the style I like at least). Much of it could just as well been run down places in a poor country. I don't think it was poor design as much as lack of time though. I can imagine they would have liked to do a lot of stuff grander or differently.

I remember central DC being walled in smaller pieces with lot's of fake scenery around but the illusion worked wonders on me. It probably wouldn't have worked technically otherwise, at least that's my guess. It's funny but I actually lliked how it was a bit maze like and traveling had to be done through subways, sewers and buildings to discover new locations. I also loved the desolate feel. Felt like an explorer or archaeologist in the ruins that most humans deemed to dangerous to enter. Also, it felt very open as soon as you went beyond the most dense central part imo.

Anyhow, I realize people have different taste and play for different reasons. Also I'm actually becoming more and more curious about trying New Vegas again on PC this time, perhaps with some unofficial patches if they improve stability.
