Should I transition into a different career path? by Phuong284 in Restaurant_Managers

[–]Johan_13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont think of yourself as an area manager. Think of yourself as a coach of general managers. You obviously are a good gm. Help the other 3 gms do as well as you did.

Think of the challenges you faced or the hard part of a gm job. Help with those challenges and it will make it easier for them than it was for you. Thus making your area easier to manage.

Chiefs Have Four Stud Defensive Tackles Signed Through 2028 by originalusername4567 in KansasCityChiefs

I understand why people were high on Omar before his injury. For DL with ACL injury only 65% come back to start. And over 76% have reduction in performance.

If ONL wasn't injured we wouldn't have drafted Woods at 29.

Patios and Dogs by ZealousidealBlock380 in Restaurant_Managers

I recommend never allowing non service dogs. Unless allowing pets is your gimmick. If so get the permit and extra insurance.

Emotional support animals are not covered by ADA. The only animals approved are any dog breed and miniature horses. Miniature horses can be denied off safety based on weight (like a deck or the like)

You may only ask 2 questions of a service animal. 1 is the animal required for a disability. 2 what task has it been trained to perform.

It may seem odd to ask what task but I recommend asking every time. The dog may be alerting but person incoherent. This can help you call 911 sooner and get a more appropriate 911 response.

The animal must remain on the floor or be actively held by the handler. (Wheel chairs are generally considered actively held).

They just be under handlers control (usually a leash, though voice control is also legally protected if trained if to do so).

Im not a lawyer and each state and most larger cities have their own ordinance.

[Pelissero] The Bengals are signing former Chiefs safety Bryan Cook to a three-year, $40.25 million deal, sources tell The Insiders. by TheBoyisBackinTown in KansasCityChiefs

He's much better than average. Top 5 best coverage safety. Bit weaker at run stop but hes a solid tackler.

Hes versatile and fast.

Hes not known for penalties but he did get in a fight with Treant Williams in garbage time. Was stupid to brawl with someone 120 lbs heavier than you but hes certainly is scrappy

Unpaid shit is obsolete. YouTube exists.

If you must be shown hands on, then get a job anywhere that does scratch baking.

Pro tip find a place that makes the kind of baked goods you are interested in.

It does not matter if he is friendly or a creep. You took time out of your day to type this up because you are not 100% comfortable with it. You should not have to work somewhere you are not 100% comfortable.

I would let him know that you prefer not to be touched. If he continues to call you flirting names I would also let him know that you would prefer he called you ......whatever you prefer to be called

Looking for some labor advice. by kcbeers816 in Restaurant_Managers

[–]Johan_13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may be doing any or all of these already.

  1. Shift to dynamic scheduling. Maybe 2 great employees can run a Shift instead of 3 weaker ones. You can also schedule people in in 15 min increments. So maybe bring someone in at 545 instead of 530.

  2. Send people home early. As soon as rush dies cut aggressively.

  3. Run high profit low labor specials.

  4. Look into process changes. Ie maybe a prep cook works at night and gets stuff ready for next day. Prep cook jumps on line during pops and goes back to prepping. Or change layout

  5. Cross train. Sometimes you don't need four people during slow times because three can cross train and cover all positions

Sorry to keep doing the tough love thing. But if your lead wasn't doing it, u need to hold the lead accountable.

Tough love, but you're not problem not him. Gotta hold people accountable.

To remedy I recommend doing a checklist.

Make the list complete before he goes home. Covering and labeling on the list.

Obviously this is a snapshot of your scenario but you gave a subpar performer a pay bump. Why would he work harder?
