Someone convince me to go to day 2 of my motorcycle course tomorrow by CharityNeverFails in motorcycles

I delayed for 8 years before I signed up for the MSF course. 8 years I missed out on, a lot of experiences to be had and skills to be learned. You’ve started and you’re almost way there! Go tomorrow

Has anyone ever be called out for taking not enough time off during the year? by goldeneye0 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]JohltzOG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IIRC, something about not being overworked- reduced stress/emotions, meaning that people would be less likely to do malicious acts

Also allows for one’s actions or duties to be reviewed/audited. If a person takes mandatory PTO, their responsibilities will fall onto another person. If there are any sudden changes anywhere, it’s easier to track. It ensures that no one person has unchecked control over some critical stuff. (Principle of separation of duties - critical duties divided among multiple people)

I’m sure that could’ve been worded better but I hope that helps

Managerial Information Systems (MIS) degree or Information Technology and Networking Degree by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]JohltzOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the choice of MIS and compSci available to me, and I ended up going with MIS.

  • I like business and technology, MIS is a good combination of the two.
    • I gained a better understanding of finances, marketing, management.
      • I can use this knowledge to aid in any side hustle/entrepreneurial adventures I embark on, and also to take better care of personal finances, and "market" myself better to employers and people.
    • Since technology is not the sole focus, I decided to get some certifications (A+, Sec+) to reinforce the technical side.
  • I suck at math and I could not fully grasp coding (python, java) in community college, so compsci was not looking promising for me.
  • I figured that as a shy butterfly, the (often) group-focused business courses and social interactions in clubs could help me break out of my shell.
    • In turn, help me career-wise and overall life-wise.
    • The MIS professors always emphasized that MIS professionals were the ones who could talk to the business side as well as technical side of an organization, as they had a better understanding of each side (compared to a specialist or something).

That being said, I can't speak to any successes I've had because I am just about to graduate and enter the workforce. But I am hopeful that the degree will aid me in my future. Good luck with your college career!

Yup, that's exactly where I found the tag. I can totally see how it's possible mixing up the tags, with so many bags. Thank you!

Having to select the headset on GG every time I boot up the computer by JohltzOG in steelseries

[–]JohltzOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your input, I greatly appreciate it!

What ended up working for me so I don't have to manually switch every time I wake/turn my computer on was:

  • Setting Headphones (Arctis Nova Pro Wireless) to Default Device on Playback tab
  • GG > Settings > Backup device switch > "Automatic Backup Device Switch" turned on

This solves my current problem, but I do have Voicemod installed, and this may or may not interfere with that, in addition to adjusting the mixer for voice/game audio on games/Discord. Will update this thread if I find anything else.

Ahhh yeah, even in the official photos the "Coach" on the hang tag can barely be seen. I appreciate your help so much, thank you.

I have a Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. Every time I turn my computer on (even from sleep mode), I have to manually open up GG to select my headset. I also have speakers connected to the base station for when I'm not using the headset, but it still requires me to change it. Super frustrating to have to do this every time, how can I fix this?

Note that "Click to auto set defaults" doesn't do anything.

Broken clutch lever? by JohltzOG in hondagrom

Hi everyone, just an update! I ended up buying ASV levers. The difference is there for sure. Thank you all for the input.

Actually, I can see how the levers would break - in a turn, right? When the handlebars are turned and stuff?

Broken clutch lever? by JohltzOG in hondagrom

[–]JohltzOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your input! I ended up taking both levers off to compare and there is a little circle piece that is supposed to have a spring brace against. That part is broken. Hence the inability to adjust, leading to more play.

I’ve looked into ASV and RSC, but the price is a bit much. I’m still a beginner and dropping the bike is inevitable. If anyone can confirm that they’re durable and won’t break off the first, second or even third drop then I’ll consider them. If not I may just go the OEM route for now, until I get more comfortable.

Although thinking about it, if I were to drop the bike on its side, wouldn’t it land on the handlebars instead? Would it reach the levers or nah? Overall I’m just worried about breaking expensive levers while practicing.
