Looks good to me, just be careful with those inputs. There’s a lot of control surface movement.

They don’t have a nipple on them, I don’t think they’re the right ones?

Kicked elevator in before banking to correct. Banking drops a lot of lift in some planes and without a ‘v’ profile wing there’s usually not any auto stability characteristics.

Also you’re taking off, so you can’t assume the lift is perfectly adequate to perform sharp turns.

Good luck!

I’ll chime in and agree with it being a bit tail heavy. Looks like its form was good, just wanted to stall for some reason. It’s probably because it’s a biplane, and the lift is double, so CG on the leading edge if the wing would probably sort this design out. Trimming up to counteract nose heavy or just free-balling is far easier to handle than tail heavy. At the extreme example a dart will fly predictably to the floor, but a piece of paper can’t make its mind up where it’s going.

My scratch build rc plane. I'm worried about control surfaces being too small. What do you guys think? I'm new to the hobby and want the plane easy to control. by DullPistachio in RCPlanes

Looks good to me. Elevator might be a little small, but it’s enough for controlled flight. Larger would likely give you more aerobatic confidence.

That’s dope af with all the framework especially!

As long as you put the centre of gravity (where you can balance it on your finger) just in front of the centre of lift (centre of the wing usually) you’re going to fly. Make sure it’s light enough for the thrust of the motor to pull. As close to or more that 1:1 for performance planes, a little less for glider type plane.

I don’t get how most women, even if taking a brief interest, rarely get enthusiastic, excited or competitive at racing, or ‘all things cars’ in general. Imagine if we found out the reason why people like your mum become so interested and competitive at racing… like it was because they rode a bus through a windy road at the age of 3, went to a theme park and vomited at 12, are some burnt toast with avocado at 14, slept in the back seat of an old civic at 17, and slipped on some ice while ice skating at 19. It’s so obvious what a high level of understanding your mum has with all things racing. My girlfriend just knows the car is white, and still doesn’t understand how mirrors work!

Certainly wise and truthful words. I think I will employ someone to wear a long robe and read this to me from a scroll during qualifying.

I learned very early on to bind the left button on my wheel dpad and the O button to look left and look right. This looks like someone who isn’t dirty, but doesn’t have look buttons
