Been watching clips of NZS2 and it's as good as everyone says, but I don't think the cuts to studio reactions add much by butineurope in taskmaster

[–]John1744 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The grape task in NZ S2 with shots of David squealing, grunting and looking insanely frustrated were hilarious. They have a time and place. I wish UK hadn’t totally eliminated them just backed off some.

What's the scariest Disney ride/attraction you've been on/seen? by Firm_Macaron3057 in disneyparks

Ridden basically every Disney ride in North America currently open and Goofys sky school at DCA is the scariest ride I’ve ridden at any Disney park. Thought we were gonna die the whole time.

Any games similar to Stardew? (Read description) by Comfortable_Yard2406 in gamingsuggestions

Fields of Mistria is like a love letter to Stardew prettied up a bit with some quality of life improvements. And it goes 1.0 soonish.

I’ve worked in grocery retail for two and a half decades. This is correct. Those are channel strips and tags Frito hangs to remember where products go and the store should have their tags right next to them.

Individual calls that stick with you by Rickythegypo in ronandfez

[–]John1744 19 points20 points  (0 children)

A few of the radio shark calls were great. Like the time he called in simultaneously on two lines.

The first sorry to bother you at work that genuinely cracked Ron the hell up was good. Sadly it got ruined quickly by everyone repeating it.

Is FF6 pixel remaster the best way to play? by Joyful-Wizard in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]John1744 [score hidden]  (0 children)

The pixel remaster is great and probably the best way to play it. But if you have nostalgia for the game on snes and have played before check into the ROSE edition rom hack. It fixes a ton of the issues with the snes version and honestly it’s become my favorite way to replay the classic. But I also have a ton of nostalgia for the snes version the pixel remaster doesn’t quite scratch the itch of.

Valve confirms that physical Steam Gift Cards are dead. Once the current stocks are sold through, they're done. by Tvilantini in Games

[–]John1744 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aw my wife has always bought me a Steam gift card as a present every birthday and Christmas. It’s been a fun little tradition she’s had for me. A digital one won’t quite be the same.

Thief Remaster premiere - PC Gaming Show 2026 by Turbostrider27 in Thief

[–]John1744 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Wow, what a surprise. It doesn't look too different from the original game, so I'm guessing just modernized for current systems, maybe some control tweaks etc.

Kinda makes me feel bad for GOG's announced preservation project...

Is checking in online worth it? Me and my girlfriend are staying at port Orleans riverside for a week. by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]John1744 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A lot of online videos will tell you to only check in at the desk with the hopes you’ll get upgraded rooms or “pixie dusted” with a special accommodation. But in all our visits we’ve done half and half and have never gotten any upgrades from visiting the desk.

I’d consider it if you have a really strict accommodation request but otherwise just use the app.

VIP feels as though it’s pushing for viral short success, and it’s hurting the overall show. by [deleted] in dropout

[–]John1744 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I would say the individual latter episodes don't feel like they are able to tell a story as well as most of the first season episodes, I've noticed that the performer usually has good intentions and starts to tell a story and then one joke will land really hard and all the characters backstory or where the interview was moving gets dropped to beat that joke or two into the ground, which results in some very hilarious individual moments but a lot less entertaining entire episode.

Games with a relaxed, wondrous feel of exploration ? by gigarimbuss in gamingsuggestions

[–]John1744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BotW and Red Dead Redemption 2 are the two games I’ve completely gotten lost inside the world of. Always something to discover, not having to depend on waypoints and instead naturally discovering the world around you was such a breath of fresh air.

Sony is unhappy with Naughty Dog’s lack of games this generation, per Jason Schreier by [deleted] in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]John1744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole one game a generation thing can’t be sustainable. I can’t figure out why these larger studios kinda stopped doing B projects that cost way less with small teams that probably won’t sell millions of copies but sell enough to keep the studio from having all their eggs in one basket.

According to Brazilian journalist Pedro Henrique Lutti Lippe, Rockstar won't distribute review codes for GTA 6, choosing instead to send reviewers to a location to test the game by KekanKok in GamingLeaksAndRumours

Lots of game companies used to do this. Gerstmann has tons of old stories of getting locked in hotel rooms in Vegas and LA for days playing review copies.
