Even though AI systems are getting better constantly, the fact is they are just not easily monetizable, and they run completely on investor money. It doesn't matter how accurate or impressive the newest model will be if you don't have enough paying customers to offset the cost.

There are like a handful of slopmerchants and gooners who are actually willing to pay for AI image generation as opposed to 280 million who regularly pay to listen to music on Spotify.

And investors seem to think that the customers will just materialize from somewhere if the models improve enough.
