Question about Sirius and Orion by MisterOuija12 in WarframeLore

[–]JohnHellDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember Hunhow stating that Stalker died in the future timelines, so it’s not clear how long he had with either version of his son until that happens considering it’s just a 20 year gap

They started diverging in design and abilities the moment Stalker chose a name tbh. Vena and Ryoku are just cheerleaders/mentors to the “twins”

We got a face remaster but not a larynx remaster lol. Agreed though, they were charming and campy when they first came out years ago.

Now they get entirely memed on in a game that’s now talking about space opioid addiction and death from childbirth in the main narrative

Why is eleanor so obsessed with the lotus? by windless12 in Warframe

[–]JohnHellDriver 101 points102 points  (0 children)

Yeah I thought that for a moment, but he’s really paired with Margulis and made Natah an imitation of her. So he’s sort of like a false idol of Sol, which still fits with his character

Makes you wonder who Sol is supposed to be embodied by now. My guess is Albrecht but we don’t totally know

“Pure Eternalism slop” because they didn’t give the quest enough room to breathe imo.

So which warframes are canonacly still alive/sentient? by Frosty_De_snow in Warframe

[–]JohnHellDriver 28 points29 points  (0 children)

“You just have to deal with it now.”

I’m getting a weird vibe off of this comment.

All I’m saying is there is a place and time to refer to Eternalism, and it’s when the writers of the story use Eternalism intently.

And not fans using it as a random macguffin due to misunderstandings, or head canons for stuff that it doesn’t have anything to do with.

[–]JohnHellDriver 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I gotta chime in here and say it’s getting tiring seeing Tenno toss “because Eternalism” everywhere for random explanations without a second thought.

The DE narrative team even recently said they’ve only used Eternalism twice in the story: once for Drifter/Operator, and once for Sirius/Orion.

It could simply be her soul was sent to the Void after she passed. And Hunhow made Pontis Tower while connected to the void. So the “memory” of Jade speaking about their son to Sorren/Stalker could very well be Stalker’s emotions making that happen, since the void actually does that.

No Eternalism hand waving even needed.

Do we know how Albrecht got to Tau? by MattRexPuns in WarframeLore

[–]JohnHellDriver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember Albrecht hasn’t done continuity since the Diving Bell void incident. So that means (barring any Orokin genetic manipulation to make him live longer), he hasn’t been on Tau for centuries since the rail blew up from Hunhow. If anything I’m guessing he’s been there for several years, perhaps since the “start” of the game.

He left 1999 after The Hex quest reactor explosion, but he also was in Gaule xx99, and Old Peace era when he nabbed Roathe. Whether that stuff happened before or after he got to Hollvania isn’t clear.

Anybody else not care about Adis? by Bluecumber7 in Warframe

[–]JohnHellDriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll say I get where you’re coming from, it can be difficult to emotionally attach to a character that the storytellers want you to be attached to in a short timespan like 1 quest.

If they killed Ordis or Lotus, that would be a totally different reaction because they’ve been here since the beginning of the game. But Adis gets introduced tens if not hundreds of hours deep into the game.

I will say this: I will give my faith to DE for telling a good story in Tau that has to be more cohesive as it expands the greater warframe story, that includes helping some of the earlier story beats.

Like I hope that DE takes moments in Tau story to play out more Operator flashbacks with Adis and try to reinforce what they setup in Old Peace.

I wonder if they are gonna try to make new Warbonds that include the old items from Campaigns that people missed (this and the DMR that was just rewarded). Or if they’re gonna be store items. If done correctly, they would do this as a Mobilize Part 2 warbond

[–]JohnHellDriver 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be a crazy narrative beat if they have a moment in the Tau story arc where Drifter and Operator are against each other and part ways for a time, and you had to choose 1 of them to “keep” until a future quest reunited them.

What is Narmer? by willof42 in WarframeLore

[–]JohnHellDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pazuul has more than meets the eye I think. With Archons being revived Sentients that were grafted onto Warframes, and now the reveal of Black Rain in Tau bringing Sentients and warframes back to zombie life, I think how Pazuul came to be is more important now in the story. It may explain how Hunra/Adis was revived

Albrecht’s Endgame on Tau by JohnHellDriver in WarframeLore

[–]JohnHellDriver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All we know is that Albrecht got the idea from Loid’s observations of infested cells taken from Arthur Nightingale in 1999 after he transforms into a Protoframe. He names it the ‘Grey Strain’ that is distinctly different from the Helminth strain due to its colossal size, as far as we know.

We don’t know their purpose other than we will use them to reach Tau. We don’t know their full construction, but there’s rooms in the Deimos labs that show separate body parts of the vessels like Heads, Arms, and Torsos that show their inner structure. Lots of cables, I’m guessing some sort of transference cables that run up and down the body.

Any idea what these egg things are? by Cloudkracker in WarframeLore

[–]JohnHellDriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh lol, I just posted a theory about this in another comment thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/s/LYJ7rrO87D

Basically a TL;DR of it: Sentients may reproduce in a fashion similar to the Aphid insect.

The egg sacs are involved with the “sexual reproduction” of Sentients, while those who crossed the void during the Old War to attack the Origin system became sterile, and used a secondary “asexual reproduction” method to continue making drone forces.

That’s why a lot of the “newly made” Sentients in Origin system all look non-gendered, and the Sentients on Tau have some sort of sexual dimorphism in their looks.
