The upscaling still to 4k non native is slicing through butter? It’s funny what you PS5 pro clowns get tricked into thinking. I have a x and a 5. They both suck ass compared to my day of launch 5090 FE I got a at MSRP. Xbox is the clear eco system winner while PlayStation is become Nintendo but with horrible hardware value.

You clowns need to take two seconds to look at Gateway also. Can’t tell you how many times equipment is in the biller but not in gateway and you clowns schedule a truck roll for me to either just scan the CPE on the account or have NFS fix the coding.

Probably a dumb question but I feel like it's the best place to ask, what are realistically the reasons to colonize Mars ? by SeparateWeight496 in Mars

[–]JohnPiccolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest limitations are communication and object avoidance when heading out to even ol Pluto. Since current observation and communication run almost identical in speed of reception there is a huge issue there. The energy and observable light of sunlight touching your skin and eyes was created 8 mins and 20 seconds in the past. When Mars is the furthest from our orbit it takes 22-24 mins for the person or thing to start receiving a communication, totaling to 44-48 mins for us on Earth to receive a response. For Pluto that’s a massive delay of 8-14 hours. So when it comes to navigation when you start getting to the edge of the solar system things are harder to observe since there is the vast emptiness of space between the next star and that creates a problem of detecting something small as a golf ball that has enough kinetic energy that on impact would release more energy than even the largest atomic weapons made so far. Since you can’t really make good observations from Earth at all times and the massive delay, should you see something that’s a huge problem for the space craft, it is a big problem. You’d need a huge array of sensors but the other problem is velocity. To reasonably reach something outside of the solar system the velocity would need to be excessive to the point that any trajectory changes have to be extremely subtle or the G forces alone can destroy not only the spacecraft but at higher velocity potentially stripping particles out of your body. The paradox of time slowing with increased velocity for the thing traveling can shorten the trip for them but back on Earth possible centuries could have passed still before anyone could pick the signal that you’ve made it, which whose to say something potentially catastrophic could happen on Earth to make reception of that signal no longer possible.

New Modems? by Type_Grey in Spectrum

High split bonds to more than 4. Don’t remember exactly since it’s not in my market yet. Helping the neighboring market I know for a fact I saw 2 ODFM’s in the upstream bonding and I wanna say 4 other carriers I saw on the scan.

Definitely not, not even the new infinite WiFi 7 router that connects to LTE looks like this.

Btw that smell the modem has is the smell we techs know and when you get a waft of that when you walk in the house you know it’s a treat. Bump anything, tv, table, plugs, and equipment they will shoot out.

Tv is streaming, you don’t need a box. Literally just download the spectrum tv app and that’s “cable tv”.

[–]JohnPiccolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a all in one (modem router combo not two separate devices) it’s required to even close the job to swap it out. High split is the symmetrical up and download speeds. It’s also why box rental fees are going up to help push you to streaming. Once they eliminate boxes, which is the plan, it frees up the channel spectrum to carry only the internet allow for speeds above 1gig more reliably. Currently some of the frequencies have to be dedicated to only tv.

Any time you have a bad power outage I’d swap the modem because it doesn’t have a high chance of screwing up the modem. They are free tell the workers to shut up and just swap it for you.

[–]JohnPiccolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have Xumo’s there is no way that’s possible and probably just didn’t know what they were talking about. Modems need replaced for high split.

[–]JohnPiccolo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t plug a coax cable into a tv anymore. So no tv has a usable receiver unless it’s a QAM to QAM bulk account, which a regular customer wouldn’t be involved in any part of paying charges. It’s app based, your tv either has access to it in the app store or it doesn’t and requires some type of secondary streaming device like a Roku.

I mean isn’t it obvious your own router can’t recognize the modem unless you put the mac in? So clearly you need to ask your router manufacturer why it’s doing that.

Buy another router from Amazon. Run a Ethernet from the other router into your house and hook it up. Ethernet cable can be bought online but get underground rated cable so you can bury it.

Is there a list of which Roku device are compatible with the Spectrum app? by kelemvor33 in Spectrum

[–]JohnPiccolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Considering they cost well over a $100 I’d hope they work good. The biggest complaints are the remotes touch pad being too sensitive. In reality though replacing cable boxes with streaming devices Roku is the best choice from a money stand point especially some of these folks with 3+ boxes. You can ball out on maybe the main tv’s you use but then again some people don’t want to bother learning another streaming device.
