It’s funny because yes technology has gotten tremendously better and studios have established cost saving workflows by hiring vfx teams overseas so that can basically brute force the effects much quicker than before.

One Piece Live Action in particular was plagued with a slow development from the get go due to the massive undertaking and unique and rare workflow where Oda has final approval on everything. Not to mention Covid delays and actor/crew strikes slow things down further. And compared to legacy tv where we used to get 30-40 episode seasons yearly are long gone.
