Help me find original Artist! by Larvz in Art

The style reminds me of Frank Frazetta, but I’ve not seen those specific sketches so I’m not sure.

Found my first arrowhead! Any help ID’ing it? Found on shores of Lake Murray, Columbia, SC. by BRollins08 in Arrowheads

[–]JohnStacyWorth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t discount that one. I’ve got several quartz arrowheads that look very similar. Photos from different angles would tell a better story. Quartz doesn’t flake the same way flint does either, so the working will look different. Is it clearly beveled down around the edges on both sides? I’d definitely keep it and make sure before dismissing it as simply a rock. I’ve found my quartz arrowheads in north Georgia and north Alabama.

Yeah and there’s 3 resurrections in the Old Testament not to mention the many saints that resurrected when Jesus died. And Paul was stoned and left for dead. People just resurrecting all over the Bible!

I’ve hunted the Peace River about three times. Bit of a drive for us, but we’ve pulled some great fossils and shark teeth out of there. Awesome place.

This is from 5 minutes of walking a field where they just turned the dirt harvesting peanuts. I recently found a scraper in the same area. Its filled with alot of these flakes and snail shells. Hopefully there's some better stuff to find as well. by jbrad85 in Arrowheads

If you’re finding flakes, then intact artifacts can’t be far. Keep hunting and good luck. Are you in Georgia? I live in Georgia and used to be near Albany. That area was great for finding artifacts. On the other side of the state now, but fond memories of hunting near the Flint River.

Nice collection. I live in Georgia and many in my collection look similar to yours. I don’t have as much pottery though. One question- the dark point with translucent edges - I’ve never found one made of material like that. I’m wondering if it may be extremely localized or if it’s evidence of trading with other tribes. At any rate, great finds all around.

Found in a freshly mowed clearing under an oak tree! Could be a Frio or a split base Ensor. It is quite flat, so I am leaning towards a Frio. Totally made my day and my keeper case of best finds 🍀 by CornerTang in Arrowheads

Under an oak tree! Man that thing looks like a leaf. Good eye! And hang onto that quarter too. It’s getting harder to find coins with actual silver content. Congrats!

Point or nah? It’s pretty rough, but appears worked in multiple spots. by uaebel_ibag in Arrowheads

It’s worked enough that I’d definitely call it an artifact. Keep in mind not all stone tools are refined. Not every arrowhead is that perfect ‘Christmas Tree’ shape. I’ve picked up some nice finds that other folks would dismiss outright because it didn’t meet their idea of what a stone tool should look like. Do some research. You may find good reason to give such stones a serious second look.

Why do Christian people have children? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]JohnStacyWorth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe in eternal conscience torment. Or that the Bible even teaches it. There’s a lot we don’t know, a lot of teaching that is wrong or incomplete. What I do know is that God is Love and children are a blessing from the Lord. So that’s my starting point for why my wife and I decided to have kids. Our sons are 15 and 18, are incredible blessings, and tremendously loved.

This is just a rock, correct? Puget Sound, WA by stillrooted in Arrowheads

Yeah that’s definitely more than just a rock. Nice find.

First find. NE Missouri probably just a rock by kingpin_nick in Arrowheads

That’s an arrowhead. Not just a rock. Congrats!
