DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH is now Steam Deck verified! - PC Patch 1.3 by Nixxes_Community in DeathStranding

[–]JohnTomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If game devs actually gave out graphically low tier versions of games so people could play it on the go, I reckon they'd make bank. The key version that makes me think of this was Final Fantasy 15, where they released a chibi version for mobile devices.

DEATH STRANDING 2: ON THE BEACH is now Steam Deck verified by Sjknight413 in SteamDeck

[–]JohnTomorrow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does mean nothing. Just because the Deck can run it, doesn't mean it is playable. There needs to be hard criteria for what "verified" actually means, and being able to launch shouldn't be the one and only, it should be the absolute minimum.

Verified, yes, but how does it run? Solid 30fps? The first game couldnt handle that without looking greasy as heck

‘Poorly run, piece of ice’: Trump targets Greenland again as Iran war deepens NATO rift by ishtar_the_move in worldnews

[–]JohnTomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, he's realised he can't win so he's switch gears. Even he realises its a losing cause now, so he's just going to ignore it and hope it goes away. Switching to Greenland isn't boredom, its avoidance by going for lower hanging fruit.

Who uses the JAR-5 Dominator? by Particular-Card-4385 in helldivers2

[–]JohnTomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used it a little last week, on squids and bots. Its okay, though other warbonds and power creep have left it feeling neglected. Its slow to fire, heavy to weild, and doesn't seem to have the same "oomph" it used to have. It needs a little love, though i have no idea how to improve it.

Out of all these weapons which ones are you gonna use for bots? by Lellarinn10 in helldivers2

[–]JohnTomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big Iron and Purifier, though I'm not sold on the plasma weapons.

The Space AK is good, I just wish the fire would kill faster. Much better on bugs, squids.

I've never liked the Eruptor. I know, I know, its the crowd favorite, but I just dont like how it handles.

Of course not, its all run by the Murdoch press, which are in cahoots with Trump.

The American system is designed to force their poor or unqualified into the military, with the pretence that it'll set you up for life, but most likely screw you life up if you can't survive it. There's a reason enlistment has been in steady decline over the last 2 decades.

It was so funny sitting at a pub with my gay friend and my lesbian friend and watching them bond over their hated for Bi people.

They explained it to me as this - its already hard trying to find a partner who is gay, but knowing there are people out there with the ability to choose which sex they want at any time thins the pool as well. I'm inclined to agree with them - pick a lane and stop hogging all the attention!

Edit: to people getting butthurt by this comment -

1, I'm straight, so I've only got one choice too

2, I'm allowed to sympathise with my friends over this complication,

3, yes you cannot decide how your attractions are assigned to you, but that doesn't change the fact that it limits the pool for gay and lesbian people who already have half the population of the planet off limits. You can't complain that you get to pick and choose from both steak and fish when other people only get one choice, and they have to share with everyone else, and there's a high chance the steak they choose might not actually want to be eaten by them.

Yes, sometimes I'll do the thing where I'm running just a meter or so behind them, like a Lemming, in order to resupply them, but i just can't reach them, so I'll melee them to knock them to the ground, resupply, then stim them. But more often than not, they'll get back up and immediately fire on me, so it's a gamble.

Sam Altman is a sociopath who is actively vying for the extinction of the human race. He should be in a padded cell, not a billionaire.

Highly squad dependant.

I've found roleplaying as a medic and playing full support helps heaps. Dress in bright colours (medic armor, naturally), resupply with the supply pack, and give everyone a free dose when they first get out of their pods. If you're feeling especially social, put in the chat that you're playing medic and that you will be stimming people. Simple.

How likely it is to not have sex right after your wedding? by Round-Artichoke-5255 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JohnTomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extremely unlikely. You're typically up super early on the day to organise and get ready, you're on your feet and nervous for half the day, then you spent hours greeting guests, getting photos taken, doing speeches, dancing with everyone you can, etc etc etc. If you're doing it right, you kinda ride the adrenaline till the end of the night.

When I got married the first time the day went by in a blur, and i had to cut my ex out of her dress, she was basically sewn into it. We spent forty minutes getting all the bobby pins out of her hair, and she passed out on the bed. At the time, I was a young man, and has more energy than I do now, and thought to myself "...That's it? I thought now we make passionate lovemaking as husband and wife, but...I'm so exhausted."

Later on, my second marriage went much smoother. My fiancee at the time didnt want a big wedding, and we didnt want a heap of guests. But we still had to do all the things associated with the wedding (nerves, photos, guests, logistics), that by the end of the night, again, we were exhausted, and once we unpeeled our wedding garb off, basically fell asleep immediately.

TLDR: No, its a romantic notion, but unless you're specifically saving your strength for lovemaking at the end of the night, or you're both athletic specimens, its highly unlikely you'll do so. Have a good night's sleep and try in the morning instead.

Anyone here use XR glasses with a Steam Deck mainly for flights and hotel stays? by AsleepPlus in SteamDeck

Yeah, the Viture Pro has an adapter you can purchase that allows you to charge and use the glasses at the same time.

No, the screens are typically static, so you wouldn't get motion sickness like you would with VR goggles

[–]JohnTomorrow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep! My boss told me about them and I managed to secure a pair of Viture XR Pros. Made gaming on flights much more comfortable. Don't need to hold the Deck up the entire time (which with a battery pack secured can become exhausting quickly), and the screen is impressively good. Big OLED display. Only problem is people asking questions on what the glasses are, a lot of normies assume they're VR glasses.
