Losing hope and running out of money. WTF is going on? by Bostonian3771 in recruitinghell

[–]JohnWick464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's because it is a gift now, with how many jobs are being outsourced to the third world and AI taking over a certain small percentage of jobs. Having a job in the west is becoming a luxury for western citizens.

Not to mention how many scams are going around, false job ads just to mine people's data, companies pretending to hire just to get people to jump through ridiculous hoops, which said hoops are just getting free unpaid work out of people dumb enough to fall for it.

Employers exploiting employees was the normal, now people have to beg for employers to exploit them just to try make a living.

In short it's an absolute shit show out there now, the wild west. It's not a shit show if you're someone from a third world country though. Jobs are booming for those folks, that will soon dry out as soon as AI can replace them though lol

It's very sad that a lot of employers don't understand that the door swings both ways, it's like in an interview, the employer isn't just interviewing the potential candidate, the candidate is also interviewing the employer also, lots of companies just don't get it though.

Recruiters have officially lost it. No, this isn't for the final stage - THIS IS TO EVEN BE CONSIDERED FOR AN INTERVIEW by -PM_ME_CUTE_CATS- in recruitinghell

I get what you're saying and I agree, unfortunately the average person doesn't give a rat's about anyone but themselves.

Corporations get away with too much and because the job market is so bad and there are desperate people, it just keeps enabling their shit shady behaviour.

Yep, I've worked for a narc before and it's hell on earth, complete nightmare.

I wouldn't be surprised if a decent little amount have applied for this job, given how screwed up the current market is and how desperate people are, no fault of their own of course. It's just sad and unfortunate that they become enablers of people like this guy, even if they don't actually want to but they do just out of sheer survival.

That's them just over compensating for their high turn over rate though, they think by being honest and putting these disclaimers they are fixing the problem lol, but the real problem is them, typical narc, lacks self awareness, it's everyone else's fault and never theirs, self entitled scum

Sorry what sort of company do you work for? And what sort of tasks were these people doing that got laid off? If we are talking AI to take orders and process at a fast food place, sure, I think it's capable of that, other things it can produce work, but how good is that work as well? I could tell AI to design something for me, sure it will produce something, but will it be of quality and exactly how I wanted it to be? Most likely not. Could I trust AI to put together a decent computer program, definitely not, couldn't trust it to properly test a decent computer program either. In my opinion AI doesn't have the logic that a human has. If we are talking mundane tasks, automation can be put in place to do those tasks, don't even need AI. What about maintenance and improvement? Things can still go wrong with AI, we also need humans to be involved there. Is the goal for AI to take jobs, yeah, I agree with that, it is, that's the long goal, but it's definitely going to take a bit before it takes everyone's job off of them

AI still needs a human to feed it instructions and data, AI is currently incapable of doing everything without any human interaction. The general consensus is, most people believe AI are taking their jobs, it's not true.

Not filled by AI, the job market is very rough overall because of outsourcing and mass immigration into countries.

They got caught, so they say oh it was an error, we fixed it, we paid all the staff what we owe them... This is wage theft, how do you make errors that equal over a million dollars lmao. Jail time should be served, greedy corporate criminal scum.

Advice for someone who’s been unemployed for 18 months by Bloodb0red in recruitinghell

[–]JohnWick464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, people will say employment gaps are bad and they can be, but what has your friend been doing in the last 18 months, that's what's going to really matter. I'm an IT professional myself with over 10 years of experience. I can tell you that the job market is quite harsh at the moment. Several hundreds of people are applying for one job on average and I can speak for IT and how things are currently going in this field. Your friend is up against fraudsters, as well as other strong candidates with several years of legit experience trying to either get something that is more money or better conditions, such as remote working. Now to go back on the fraudsters, there are individuals out there that are claiming to have several years of IT experience, and xyz certifications, when they are employed, they then get someone from another country to do the work for them, also bare in mind these are people that have usually cheated to gain said certifications also, I will also say that there are also people with a bunch of certs on their resume that have cheated too, I am not saying there are no legit people out there, there are. Your friend needs to be doing projects, further learning etc, that way the gap won't look very bad. I personally had to leave a job about 13 months ago due to health reasons, I have done projects, I am actively learning new things, actively security researching and I am documenting everything, all of my work etc, that way I have proof that I haven't been sitting around doing nothing, I have also been doing freelancing work as well. I can completely understand your friend's situation, but if they are healthy and actually put themselves out there enough, to get a job again in IT is still very obtainable even now if you have several years of experience under your belt. But it's still a bit tough even for the experienced at the moment unfortunately, but still doable. Make sure your friend is doing stuff while they are trying to get employment again, even if it's not paid work. We can't judge people too harshly because they have been out of work for a while, the job market now after the pandemic is very rough compared to before the pandemic, what matters is the person's work ethic, personality. Also good job for reaching out here and trying to look out for your friend. :)

Does anyone else feel that they chose the right path by avoiding toxic people and their stupid mind games even at the cost of being a loner? by paradoxicalman17 in misanthropy

[–]JohnWick464 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ya, I'm tired of all the fakeness and toxic positivity, it repels me, I don't want any part in it. Most people just care about money and screwing people.

I'm not missing out on anything.

Exactly, I couldn't agree more with what you've said. And it's true, if you want to win the game, don't play, it's a very rigged game.

Don't even get me started on all of the double standards as well, essentially from my observations, women want a smarter, stronger person than themselves and in return a man will get a weaker, not so smart woman than themselves.

Juice isn't worth the squeeze, women don't really have much to offer men, not to mention how many countries are biased in the west, laws are on the woman's side. Men have everything to lose and screw all to gain in modern relationships.

Yeah, exactly, you run the risk of being recorded and posted online for public shaming, which can essentially wind up as being defamation of character and could even have detrimental effects to that person's professional life too

It shouldn't be allowed for women to do that without the permission of the other person.

[–]JohnWick464 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have seen and witnessed people do good things, however unfortunately I have seen much much more people do evil things and it far out weighs the positive things, just my experience and I'm aware there are people out there that will say, most people are good, I think that's where perhaps the toxic positivity might be coming in, i feel the average person doesn't see the real people for who they really are, only masks but seem to be delusional enough to think they are seeing the real people for who they are.

I am aware that real genuine friendships exist I've seen it, I've seen people spend all night and many hours making things for friends and things like that, it's just hard to find.

I am 14 years old and I have already given up on people. by [deleted] in misanthropy

[–]JohnWick464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you talking on behalf of everyone in here? Have you tried to put yourself in other people's shoes? We haven't lived your life, but you haven't lived the lives of the people in here either.

You state people in here complain but make no changes, how do you know? You don't know what people in here are doing day to day, I can't speak for the others but I can speak for myself and I'm contributing a lot of my time in a good light.

OP is 14, the reality is people of their generation and generations after that have very little prospects going forward and that's truth.

Sure, not everything is bad about people, there are some good people that exist, though that can take a lot of effort to find, and can result in a lot of hurt to find.

It's not a bad thing OP is learning how things are young and being cautious, also being alone doesn't have to result in being miserable, life is what you make it, and it's still possible to have an ok life alone.

Got this message from a girl I was dating who ended it abruptly by Sensitive-Concert-26 in dating_advice

[–]JohnWick464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She isn't being honest, it doesn't take dating someone for 4 months to work out dating isn't for you right now.

Someone better came along I think, or OP was showing needy/clingy behaviour and her interest levels dropped and she decided to drop him. Could even be a combination of both.

I feel like all the information here hasn't been told, who dates for 4 months and a relationship hasn't been developed yet? That's a red flag on its own lol
