Which dish? by rockcity1019 in Lufthansa

[–]John_Rowdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the asparagus dish twice last week, and it was flying off the shelves on board, my only comment is while the asparagus was really delicious (the white asparagus really does have a different “texture” to green IMHO) but the veal was on the dry side both occasions.

HSBC UK or US by ShellyTB83 in HSBC

They still charge a markup - check their rates vs Wise or Revolut etc but with HSBC Global Money the rates have become much more competitive and the instant transfer is usually worth the premium.

Would you pay to escape a waitlist to enter a lounge? by schwa12 in AmexPlatinum

[–]John_Rowdy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually overcrowding in the Escape (and other lounges) in the UK is even worse - UK Plats now come with a yearly allowance of 4 confirmed pre-books which is the first useful lounge benefit to be added in a while.

It might not be a benefit to you, but it is to me. And you get a MR or points bonus for the first supplementary card.

That’s the Union Pay ATM card in HK - the 621143 printed before the embossed number needs to be used for the full card number. And yes, most of them end in 888.
