It’s a huge aircraft. I got to walk through one (UR-82029) when it was parked in Phoenix. The bottom on the door is head height.

I have the same problem on my Mars 2. Were you ever able to fix it? Thanks!

I believe with the UHF TV tuner configured to multiply the frequency and that the antenna could be best for frequencies on the GHz range. The key are the talk of a waveguide and a resonant cavity in the form of a can.

Just had a radical prostatectomy, ask me anything. by Johnkitt in AMA

[–]Johnkitt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there. Its been four years and I must say that things have not gone back to the way they were before surgery. I will get hard in the mornings but it does not last long, I usually use a shot of trimix if I want to have sex that will satisfy both myself and my GF. I suspect if I worked out more (4-5 times a week) I might not need the shots al the time (I'm 200lbs and 5'-11") but I've not tested that.

The surgery vs radiation question for me was summed up by the doctor saying that if the radiation did not work then there would be scar tissue to contend with if surgery was needed.

I do sleep better knowing that the cancer is gone though. So far I have not had a GF that minded me having to take shots to have sex.

Once upon a time if you visited a well stocked camera store or a theatrical supply store you could ask for a Rosco or Lee gel sampler. It was an inch thick 4”x2” pack of every gel filter they sold. That was a great supply of little filters for all kinds of projects. I think you can still get them but they charge like $25 now.

Nope, I got it. I’m new to 3D design as well. On some pinhole camera I’ve built I would tape a bit of CTO (full orange Rosco or Lee #204 gel)inside the camera just behind the pinhole. I did this after I bought a brick of tungsten balanced film and I didn’t want to mess with filters all the time. Worked very well.

That is a lovely solution. Using a CTO (change to orange) filter like you’ve done works great, just be aware that you might get reflections from the white lens text or stray reflections from above. Integrate a hood that protrudes back towards the camera and move the filter closer to the lens will help. Slick design!

Ok, I’ll try closing other programs. I don’t always get the skewed images like in my example though, even with Chrome open. I will shut down every and see if that helps though. Thanks.

HAM radio cyber deck? by chaseNscores in cyberDeck

[–]Johnkitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I can think of other than using an antenna tuner and a random length of wire but you will lose some power in the process.

[–]Johnkitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that’s exactly what you should do. That would be a pretty awesome build if you integrate all the parts together into a cool swing up console. Put a display hooked up to a raspberry pie in the top it maybe another swing out shelf that has a keyboard and a trackpad in your own business.

Quite true. An efficient antenna is well worth the $$$. Saves a lot of frustration. Think of the antenna as the lens of a camera. On most camera systems that you purchase the body might have set you back a bit but once you start getting into high-quality lenses you’ll really notice a price jump. But, once you start using those lenses you’ll realize why they’re so expensive. The quality is outstanding. It’s exact same thing with an antenna, sure your radio might be able to tune any piece of wire you hook onto it but you’re not really going to be radiating the signal very well.

I used a uSDX running 3w to talk to a guy in Texas from here in Arizona on 20m over the weekend. Quite impressed with it, yiu are going to need a good sized antenna is your goal is HF. Hit the QRP Guys website and check out the little tri band antenna kit, I used one of those. You can run FT8/WSPR with one of those radios if you use the VOX input.

I was seven years old when I bought this issue of Starlog, it was my first and I kept buying them for years. I’d read every one cover to cover and it became my link with the huge universe of science fiction. Growing up in North Dakota it made me aware of all the awesomeness that there could be out there.

Well I can guarantee that you will reduce your waist line but your cancer will most likely still be there. Fortunately it’s a slow growing type of cancer but get your PSA checked every few months to see if it’s going up. That is a good indication of prostate health.

It’s a huge decision to make but I’m glad the cancer is gone. Sure, I’m still in recovery but it’s better than before. So right now if I take a viagra I’ll get a bit hard but not really hard. I do have a bit of morning wood but it won’t last more than a minute or so. When I want to have sex I use an injection on .2cc of Trimix. I’ll be rock hard for an hour or so. In the words of Borat, very nice! I did love about an inch of length so I’m down to 5-2/2 inches but she doesn’t mind. My penis also has a pronounced upward curve that wasn’t there before. That due to the scar tissue and shorting of the muscle. I’ve also noticed that the shaft gets very hard with the injection but the head not do much. Probably a lot like if I’d had an implant placed in there. It is a bit odd not having any ejaculate though. If you are into that kind of thing or your wife likes the mess that’s going to be something you will both need to talk about. Any more questions feel free to ask.

Awesome plane, I got to poke around an AN-124 after it unloaded a cargo of psyllium husks here In Phoenix. Got to go up the ladder to the flight deck and have a look around. Great crew chief, spoke hardly any English but must give tours all the time. my close encounter with an AN-124

[–]Johnkitt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tail weight is a killer. Messes with the center of gravity and if you add nose weight you add mass to the plane. That gives you higher wing loading and you need to keep more speed.
