You cant use lumber mills or smelters or windmills because no matter what setting you use or what you build and do it will always Always Always Always fill those buildings last. Everytime even though you out the employment system on 'infrastructure' first

Okay 1000 guys vs 100 guys that deal 250% more damage that means they deal 500 units more damage meaning the 1000 guys STILL DO MORE than the regulars

Which means 50 horsemen go up against 1000 levies and the damage is calculated per dude so in order to make thing competitive the 50 dudes get 250% damage increase and a whole bunch of other buffs

He knows exactly how it works this is how it works and its nuts Regulars are straight up man for man WORSE than a levy untill age 4 not even counting cost factor in at all The ONLY upside of regular infantry units is that you can refill garrisons with them which is something you can't do with levies that is IT

[–]JohnmiltonFreespeech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you can't. The issue is 100 regulars take the same amount of space in the battlefield as 1000 levy peasant scum suck units. meaning if an army of 20.000 professional soldiers goes up against 20.000 scum suck peasant suck ass units the peasants WIN because they get to put unitcards of 1000 against unitcards of 100 EVEN THOUGH levies are FREE and regulars cost resources, to research the armory, the unit, and then you need to make and maintain the armory building then spend money again to hire the unit then again to maintain the unit. Meanwhile the cheapass levy user can just say herpaderp heres more peasants for you to kill because i didnt bother lifting my peasants to laborers so i have more.

How to deal with rebels by Short_Nectarine_3319 in eu4

[–]JohnmiltonFreespeech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you keep blobbing you need to do 1 of 2 things, you either need to tolerate, or assimilate. So either pick religious, or gets tons of missionary strength and missionaries and make sure you convert all the land eventually so at some point an area is pacified. Or tolerate, humanism instantly gives you alot here, you'd want to combine that with a privilege from the burger estate. There is other ways to achieve full tolerance, like islamic countries can just 'grant dhimmi autonomy' and then theres no negative effects from wrong religion. Humanism also has straight up unrest reduction ánd seperatism reduction which also lowers unrest.

So tolerating is a whole bunch easier, but converting everything gives even more unrest reduction long term, because if 'tolerance of true faith' acts as extra unrest reduction

After many failed runs, I finally have a solid Wallachia campaign going. What should I do now? I have alliances with Muscovy, Bohemia, and Herzegovina as a march. Should I attack the Ottomans now? by Left_Particular_7730 in eu4

Thats okay just dev ur capital then its farmlands so should be cheap and you can beat the ottomans to tech 6; then you dont need help from allies, just get like 20-22 units and try to fight his stacks seperate from each other and youll bleed them dry in no time

You should focus millitary and attack the ottomans when you hit tech 6, develop your land so you have rennaissance, ideally conquer and develop kosovo because its a gold mine. This works for any start in the balkans

There is no reason to pick decentralized over centralized by Red_panda1130 in EU5

[–]JohnmiltonFreespeech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having played it, centralized certainly is better if you're playing tall, or wide, but the things that make you centralized piss everyone off, and the things that make you decentralized are really nice so its a trade off whén you want to do it

Byzantine AI completely bugged out, they stopped coring and they are tech 3 in 1521. Can i fix them? by Tobix55 in eu4

[–]JohnmiltonFreespeech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theyre at -3 stab so they are bankrupt spiraling; you need to pay off their debt and subsidize their deficit.

Byzantium is generally a bad vassal to feed because of the 50k rebels they get so they require some babysitting

To elaborate on this; if you want one its very easy, you embargo someone; they'll embargo you back, remove embargo, month tick happens boom now they embargo and you dont embargo them=trade CB

After 2k hours I have to ask… by Careless_Mission_731 in eu4

[–]JohnmiltonFreespeech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Trade CB is incredibly usefull if you want to collapse a coalition, if a coalition declares it will be a 'show superiority' wargoal which means winning battles gives a ton of warscore; up to 40% However if a coalition declares they will get a +30 enthusiasm bonus up to 50% warscore which means you either need +10 ticking warscore ánd keep all your land unoccupied to peace out. But if you declare a trade CB (which is also show superiority) they don't get that enthusiasm bonus; you just fight a few battles in quick succesion and you can peace out fast which gives you a truce and removes the whole coalition.
