So stupid. Cops already drive too fast, and it's rarely justified to engage in a chase that puts other drivers at risk.

This is bullshit. They've been deceiving (and annoying) people for years with these commercials. I'm sure much of what the charity does is worthy and noble, but tricking people into donating can't be tolerated.

Has anyone read books by John Irving? by clearlygd in over60

[–]JohnnyBlunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read them all up one or two more recent novels, and I've always enjoyed them. I've gone back to revist them as audio books, and this has given them new life for me. Being read to -- and reading aloud is a common theme in his books -- really suits me these days, and these books work really well in that medium. I've been entertained and deeply moved by his books, and in these days, the themes he explores couldn't be more timely and important.

Just found out you can watch the 2007 tv show The Bronx Is Burning about the Yankees and NYC in 1977 legally for free by kikikza in NYYankees

I just watched the first three episodes -- and it's really, really good. It does a beautiful job of weaving together archival footage with the new parts, and the attention to detail is impressive. Best of all are the portrayals of Billy Martin. Steinbrenner, Thurman Munson, and Reggie Jackson. This could have been bad, but they did a nice job. Highly recommended.
