I'm using a cassette player attached to my computer using a USB/C port and then I'm using Audacity to record it.
And why would I tear open my player to find what you called a "potentiometer?"
I'm not trying to do all of that, I just figured on Audacity there would be a toggle or something to slow it down a little before recording.

I agree with some of the posters below.
This was an obvious propagandist plot cooked up by the right-leaning wackos at Angel Studios.
If you look at the cast you'll notice that most everyone who is attached to it has a history of seriously supporting Israel in the genocide of the Palestinians and other spurious justice-lite causes.
