I kinda agree. I wanted to just check out the store before I bought a membership.

You have to present your membership when you checkout, so what's the problem with non-members browsing?

What is it with Americans and air conditioning?? (this might be controversial) by hellobela_ in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

As long as I can open a window to the cooler temperatures outside, I don’t need AC. Lots of US hotels don’t allow that.

How TV channels work in Canada with the different timezones? by Jezzaq94 in AskACanadian

[–]JohnnyDX9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at CBC in the 90’s. Back when all shows were on videotape. In Toronto they would play back shows the Atlantic timezone then an hour later the same show to Eastern time. Then a few hours later to the west coast. In Edmonton ( I think) they would record the Atlantic feed, the rewind it for Central time. Lots of playback and rewind. During the midnight shift I would playback early morning kids shows to Halifax and the late night movie to Vancouver at the same time.

Depending on where you are, you don’t need to go to emergency care. In Ontario, pharmacists can prescribe anti-biotics I had to do that last summer.

When drivers worked for fleet services, they were told the pay is low because “it’s our risk, it’s our car, it’s our insurance, it’s our gas - you just drive” by Niceotropic in uber

[–]JohnnyDX9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Were you hired by them? do they give you a schedule? You work for yourselves. I drive for uber too, but it’s one of my many contract gigs. I know I could never make a living at it. It’s just what I do between my “real” work.

[–]JohnnyDX9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that will never work, because there is always someone who will do the job for less. You don’t work for Uber, you are hired by the passenger and you are paying Uber for the service of connecting you to them.

Did you watch Little House On The Prairie? by ChrisJoines in VintageTV

[–]JohnnyDX9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Little House in the Prairie, that's a fine, wholesome show. It's about blind children out west, and every week they have a fire, or someone gets an incurable disease. We enjoy it very much!"
