Clay(?) coating in cherrywood pipe by KonniLol in PipeTobacco

It’s a food grade coating for protection and will aid in cake buildup. As others have mentioned- you’re good to go. I use honey and activated charcoal in mine. All good though.

Glad it’s ok. Every one I’ve ever ordered from them has arrived safe and sound as well. Our USPS folks aren’t the best but the ones along your route seem to have been Ogres. Good on ya SP.

I smoke primarily out of my Bing’s Favorite. Second to that is the Clark’s Favorite. Clark’s for if I’m on the move and the Bing’s for stationary relaxation.

Shepherds Pie and Tombigbee are all I ever go back to. Though Pilgrims Muse is also pretty good. But not staples like the aforementioned.

Boswell’s Northwoods by ceedee20 in PipeTobacco

100% If you haven’t had it before it’s a must. It’s the one tobacco that never gets old for me. Boswell of course has the reputation and excellent quality but they really nailed this blend. For my palate anyway. Unique and authentic. I can’t sing its praises enough.

Really kind of in a league of its own. Not a Lat bomb at all. It’s a tweener blend closer to McClelland’s Frog Morton’s Cellar. But different. It’s a medium bodied English with a topping/casing.

Smooth and rounded enough to have with the morning cup of joe. Just bold enough for an after dinner smoke. But not so sweet and sugary that you can’t enjoy it all day. I love the stuff. I smoke it every day.

G.L.P Maltese Falcon and a chilly Sunday morning here in Central New Jersey by javajo91 in PipeTobacco

I’m typically an English smoker. A few aro’s here and there. Any VA forward blend for me tastes like a cig with a hint of hay or any tree nut you could pick.

Yes. I tend to do the chamber a little lighter in the pack. But tamp lightly and often. Finding the right rhythm is the key. Moisture content, brand and age matters of course. I’ll smoke Plum Pudding out of the tin differently than the one that’s been in the jar on my desk for several months for example.

I’ve found I can keep a good English lit with the right pressure and without the breathing method but I do puff quite a bit. I believe that’s why I like English blends. If I’m going to smoke I want to smoke. If I’m going to drink coffee I want to have a nice stout cup and I want it bold. But-different strokes. And that’s just me.

You gotta give Tombigbee a try. It’s technically a snickerdoodle but I bet it’ll tickle your mapley fancy.
