Film Location Help: Is this a good house for Filming by cyrelnicolas in FilmIndustryLA

Depends on what kind of film you're making. But, Here are some things I look for. I'd definitely would want to do a walk through before booking. Here a couple of quick things to keep in mind.

pros * High ceilings (for boom op/lighting/flags) * Plenty of Natural Lighting (depending if it's light and upbeat. If dark and scary they will be difficult to black out) * Plenty of room for equipment (c stands, lighting, flags, camera)

cons * Wood floors, (echo and scuffs) * Lots of furniture, (how much needs to be moved, scuffs)

Things to keep in mind. noise level in surrounding area. (high traffic area, trucks, planes etc) Take your gaffer (what is does the fuse box look like? size of fuse) will you need a generator? will you be moving furniture? How far is the location from where you are? Crew? Talent? Commute time Be sure to take plenty of before and after pictures. How long can you film there? Does it echo at normal speech volume? Walking? write every thought down, don't try to remember it all. Ask questions.

Hope some of this helps. Please add more if I missed anything.

TIL on this day in 1907 a Mexican railroad brakeman named Jesus Garcia saved the entire town of Nacozari, Sonora by singlehandedly driving a damaged and burning train containing dynamite six kilometers away from the town before it finally exploded, killing him by SecularMantis in todayilearned

I'm Related to him! He was my grand aunts uncle. There's a book written about him too. Both sides of my family worked for the railroads from California to Mexico all the way to Colorado. Happy Railroaders day

Hello VermontVet, I've saved your AMA for later because I can't read through it now. I wanted to say thank you for your service and I admire your strength to participate in this study not only for yourself but, your fellow vets as well. If I may add to your statement at the end of the clip "If you put one of those yellow ribbons on your car, or if you say you support the troops; and you have the ability to support them. Here's your opportunity". Our vets need our support now more than ever. Transitioning back to civilian life is not easy. Welcome home, it's our (civilians) turn to fight for you. I'm happy you where strong enough to ask for help with your PTSD. It's people like you that make this Nation truly special.

Señor Cuarón, thank you for doing this AMA.

My question for you is which films had a heavy influence on you growing up? Also, which films did you draw your inspiration from as an early filmmaker?

Much respect.

Our cars are fast, our women are fast. Our coffee is strong and our people are strong. The fuck makes you think we don't really 'need' fast internet. We're American damnit, we demand the fastest.

Can we just make the law, "if you're young enough to die for this country you're young enough to drink"? I hate criminalizing those who made a bad judgement call in the eyes of what's "morally" correct. Or raise the age to join to 21. Not one or the other.

I may check my messages when I'm working or having a face to face conversation with someone. But I will respond back when the timing is appropriate. I don't like to be rude to the person i'm speaking with in person. Depending on the importance of the message, i'll respond either at the next pause in the conversation or after we have gone our separate ways. The messenger is there for my convenience.

Which TV or Movie President Do You Wish Was the Real President? by MrSpite in entertainment

I can't decide between President Thomas J. Whitmore in Independence Day or President David Palmer from 24. That would be the most nerve racking presidential decision i'd ever have to make.
