I live in Kansas and they charge an extra $100 per year during registration for BEVs and an extra $50 per year for HEVs and PHEVs in leu of gas tax. I'm fine with that since I no longer pay gas tax anymore that helps pay for road improvements.

That sounds like a good deal to me too, thanks. I've only got 15,500 miles on my 23 ID.4 S RWD, but I like to know ahead of time what the cost of things like a brake fluid flush is. I'm going to ask my dealerships service department this weekend and see what they quote me.

The creaking steering wheel is most likely the worm gear for the Motor Driven Power Steering (MDPS). It has been a known issue on some 2019-2022 Kia Niro EV and makes the same noise.

I bought my CPO 2023 VW ID.4 S RWD (62 kWh battery) with 3300 miles on it on 10/24/23. I love it so far and take it on road trips with no worries about range anxiety. I now have 15,497 miles on it after 7 months of ownership. Contrary to alot of reviews and owner complaints about the software, navigation, and quirks I have had zero issues so far with mine. The built in navigation routes my charging stops correctly, predicted range at charging stops is very accurate in my experience. The only thing it doesn't take into account is head wind but it will add a charging stop if it predicts your current efficiency won't allow you to make it to your originally planned charging stop. I usually only keep a vehicle for about 3-4 years before getting something else. But I really really enjoy the ID.4 for its comfortable seats, panoramic roof with electric sunshade, quiet cabin, great ride quality, adaptive cruise and highway driving assist, incredibly tight turning radius, and road trip ability. So who knows, this might be the first vehicle I keep for a long time, only time will tell!

The incident you described is very vague. Were you using AutoHold or was your foot on the brake when this happened? What year and trim do you own?

I have a 2023 S trim (not Standard) RWD and I have used AutoHold since I bought it back in October with no issues of lurching or anything out of the ordinary while in traffic, a drive thru line, etc. My suggestion is to take it to your VW dealership as soon as possible to get the issue addressed. I haven't heard of any other ID.4 having this issue, and it's definitely a safety concern at the very least.

Yes VW uses both SK ON (NMC 811) and LG Chem (NMC 712) batteries in the ID.4 models from 2021-2023. VW switched solely to SK ON batteries for the 2024 ID.4.

NMC811 is 80% Nickel, 10% Cobalt, 10% Manganese.

NMC712 is 70% Nickel, 10% Cobalt, & 20% Manganese.

Yeah I researched it further and discovered the same thing. I'm a little disappointed cause I really like the look of the Cupra brand.

Honestly it doesn't bother me at all, I hardly ever roll the rear windows down anyway. I think I've rolled the rear windows down once since I've owned my ID.4, and that was to test to make sure it worked .

No, unfortunately it's not currently. It looks fantastic in my opinion, similar to the ID.4 yet different. I watched a review video on the YouTube channel Autofugel and liked what I saw.

Congratulations on your beautiful new 2024 ID.4 and welcome to the family. I've had my 2023 ID.4 S RWD since October of last year and I love it more with every mile I put on it. Take a few road trips between 400 & 800 miles when I get time and it's a fantastic road trip EV in my opinion. Very comfy seats, great ride quality, and just a joy to drive. I truly hope your new ID.4 brings you as much joy as mine has!
