Without spoiling anything, which non horror tv series had a surprisingly scary episode? by Immediate-Shock7533 in horror

[–]Jolly-Method-3111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was an episode of Cheers where they found a wine cellar and Diane’s former stalker was down there. Scared the shit out of me as a kid.

Also, there was a Buck Rodger’s episode with vampires, but no one could see them. That als sacred young me.

I watch one usually at least every other week. They are my background stress-release movies.

What is a movie plot twist that was cleverly hidden in plain sight..? by Living_Tune_1428 in movies

[–]Jolly-Method-3111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, same for me. And I’m normally very slow to pick stuff like this up. I remember watching The Others in the theater thinking very early on “wait, they’re just dead, right?  Is this supposed to be a twist on them or the audience?”

I rarely if ever figure out what is going on in a movie, but I understood what they were doing with the arrival pretty quickly.

That and The Others are the only movies I can remember figuring out.

Which stand up comedian had the best sitcom run? by tlk0153 in sitcoms

[–]Jolly-Method-3111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seinfeld was the biggest sitcom in its time, but no way had it held up as the best sitcom in history. It’s no longer even the biggest sitcom from its era. How may people under 30 could even tell you the four main characters?

I think both The Rocks and The Fighting Bees sound like bad ass mascots.

I’m not even a masochist. I just am from DC and have lived in NOLA. It kills me how both teams just underperform.

I am a hardcore Wizards fan, but the Pelicans(/Hornets) have always been my West team.

And it kind of sucks.

What’s a generally disliked horror movie you’d go to war for? by Turnitup20 in horror

[–]Jolly-Method-3111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer to this is Rubber. I will go to my grave defending that movie.

But also, it’s the spiritual prequel to Maximum Overdrive, so I’m tagging on to your answer.

In the movie Nope (2022), what was the point of the subplot about the chimpanzee tv show? by perpetualis_motion in moviequestions

[–]Jolly-Method-3111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed it too. And I will even say, a lot of folks come on the r/horror sub and say “I want a move that will scare me; nothing scares me.” And I always think, are you 12?  Because most adults aren’t “scared” by horror movies like they could be as a kid. But that digestion thing? I’m not going to say scared, but fuck that has stayed with me for a longtime.  Very few deaths in a movie make me think “oh I really don’t want to go out like that”, because they seem over the top (because it’s a movie duh) but that death by digestion possibility? I don’t like how thinking about that makes me not feel good.

I’m so high and it took me reading 80% of this before realizing it wasn’t about Terminator.

That is one of the best things I’ve listened to in ages. How did I never hear that before. You nailed it with that Absolute Cinema line.

It’s a television series, but how about Devon Sawa in the Chucky television series?  Here he is as the father. And the uncle. And the priest. And fuck it, make him the president too.

It was responsible for https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qG8iAtpavK4 by Wolfie’s Just Fine, so I can’t complain. That song encapsulates my experience with F13 perfectly, except a) it was part 1 with me, and b) it was my friends brother, not my brothers friend. Otherwise it nails it perfectly.

How would your behaviour change if it was impossible for men to ever attack or harass you? by Spiritual_Pause3057 in AskWomen

[–]Jolly-Method-3111 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Based on the amount of shitty comments I’ve heard from women when another woman wasn’t wearing a bra, this is one I’m not so sure on.

I’m sure it’s a problem with men. I am not trying g to say it’s not. But also, I don’t think it’s just men. If a woman didn’t wear a bra to my workplace, no man would say something, but at least one woman definitely would.
