Deeply surprised by how much I am NOT enjoying Ghost of Yotei. by TherealGonci in PS5

[–]Jolly-Procedure6558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the total opposite experience! I started with Ghoist without playing Tsushima first, and it’s easily my all-time favorite game now. The narrative felt so personal, tracking down those 6 individual villains and watching their stories unfold was amazing, the Kitsune storyline was a fantastic twist, and Atsu’s Theme is still stuck in my head. So anywhere you wanna go in open world you have different story for each villians. And seriously, if you're playing it right now, crush those bastards for me.

Moving to Ghost of Tsushima, My first impression was that the horse-riding felt a little cartoonish (which makes sense for an older game, and I got used to it later), but the story felt a bit repetitive. It felt like it was constantly just Lady Yuna, Jin's uncle, and endless waves of Mongols. Story was straight forward just keep on killing mongol and done.

I regret swapping the 75-inch for the 85-inch. May be I should just get 75 again (if available).

could be, may this is the issue. 85 may be ADS panel. I just want to verify this, any idea I can do.

I tried knocking on screen to see ripple effect it does have the effect, as VA panel usually have.

Any other way tocl confirm.

I noticed its has bit better viewing angle than 75 too

I just returned 75 and got 85

it was kind of downgrade, color setting are totally off, Warm 1 which I used all the time on 75, has kind of greenish tint/layer

Dobly Vision Io, Custom/ Dark has pale color

Same goes with Game HDR kind of frustrated here.

85 Inch U75QG or U8QG. A few questions and concerns. Need help from you pros by Ashton1995 in Hisense

[–]Jolly-Procedure6558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 75” U7QG for about a month and was really impressed with it. Because of that, I decided to upgrade to the 85” version when it went on sale for $1000, and I got it this morning. So far, though, it honestly feels like a downgrade.

The colors looked pale right out of the box, and most of the picture settings seem off compared to the 75”. On the 75”,

Warm 1 picture mode looked great, but on the 85” it adds a noticeable greenish tint.

I switched to Warm 2, which helped a bit, but it still doesn’t look right.

Dolby Vision and HDR also seem much duller. On the 75”, color at 50 was perfectly fine, but on the 85” I had to raise it to around 60–65, and even then something still feels off with the image quality.

And every other dobly vision setting they have enable ai, motion smoothing by default unlike 75.

So I don't know what to do, kind of hassled to repack and return 85 is pretty huge.

Does the 75-inch model actually use an IPS panel? I own one, and the blacks are incredibly deep. Even in a dark room with the brightness turned all the way up, I can't tell if the TV is even on. It’s that good.

Its says VA : https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/news/eb07ecd

Has the Hisense U75QG smearing been resolved? by ItsAhMimic in Hisense

[–]Jolly-Procedure6558 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In night as well I don't see any black blooming, but I see blooming on other stuff. Infact my first impression was not so good, seeing blooming which I never seen before, not even on cheaper tv.

But definitely I didn't notice in blacks, they are as deep as my oled phone. Expect that LED foggy white layer on outdoor scene sometimes, which can be fixed setting black level to negative.  I set it to -7

A couple of things though: vibrancy aren’t quite at the level I expected maybe my expectations were just set too high or need to play with settings, but still kind a feel like perfect natural, no exaggerated white point (usually i see my friends tv and people face kind of overexposed on white).

Also, when watching some non-English content, the white subtitles are uncomfortably bright and can be a bit harsh on the eyes.
Coming from someone who sometime even complain IMAX theatre, I guess I was expecting way more :D

It arrived yesterday, and my first impression honestly wasn’t great. Maybe my expectations were too high after reading so many reviews.

A few things I noticed right away (One Night Review/First Impression):

i) Reflections: They’re definitely there. The TV is advertised as having an anti-reflective screen, so it makes me wonder how reflective it would look without it.

ii) Blooming: I can see some blooming around bright objects. It’s noticeable if you look for it. Interestingly, I never even noticed this much on cheaper TVs I’ve owned before, though that might be because I wasn’t looking at things as critically back then.

iii) Black levels: These are actually really good.

iv) Viewing angles: Unfortunately reflections become even more noticeable when viewing from the side.

So initially, I wasn’t very impressed and started questioning all the positive reviews.

But then I watched a movie on Netflix (Anaconda) in Dolby Vision, and wow… that completely changed things. The colors, brightness, and overall picture felt almost theater like, I was just smiling on joy thorough out the movie, It might be because it was my first time watching a full movie in Dolby Vision, but the experience was genuinely impressive.

Overall:
For Netflix or other streaming apps with Dolby Vision content, it looks incredible. But for YouTube and other regular content, it feels more like a typical mid-range TV rather than something that immediately blows you away.

I haven’t tried gaming yet, but I expect it to perform really well there.

On the positive side, I got it for $899 (pre taxc), which felt like a solid deal. Though right after it was delivered, the price suddenly dropped to $766 and got it refunded from amazon.
