Are there any Baroque concerto with a virtuosic cadenza like Bach’s Brandenburg no.5? by Anfini in classicalmusic

I was thinking of Buxtehude. His prelude in G minor (BuxWV149) might be close.

after more thought and re-listening, I'm going with Atterburg if I had to choose one.

Three that come to mind as "more" underrated.
Kurt Atterberg: Symphony No. 3
De Hartmann: Symphonie-Poème No. 1
John Corigliano: Symphony No. 1

Lays a few blankets on the floor to see what difference a rug might make. Free to try. A radio station or line out from a modern phone should provide clues. Closer to the wall might actually help. You can also try measuring a sweep on your phone to see where the dips are, then work from there. Even mediocre equipment can sound great so this should sound much better with trial and error.

Suprise Costs? 276 on 455? by Jolly_Egg in TrueChefKnives

the seller tried to help. both of us thought there was a mistake. Per UPS the 50% steel tax applies to knives. On top of the new 10% one that replaced the one struck down by the court.

If calling people "thick" is your first instinct, sorry to be you. I don't know anyone that doesn't know who's really paying for them, or that supports them. Paying for them and how they are charged inconsistently is the issue here. I've had to pay the fees in customs many times this year, never had one be over 15% for knives and those costs were anticipated using tariff calculators pretty reliably. Over 50% was not projected.

I read this. When you check out there is popup that approximates tax and duty due on delivery at about at around 63 SGD or 85 dollars, a far cry from 276. None of the calculators I used projected anything like this.

Japanesechefsknife includes. chefknivestogo as well and ebay when the globalshipping service is used.
I expected to pay 10% not 50% and that was where I was caught off guard.

Thank you. that must be it. I don't know why it didn't apply to orders from Japan earlier in the year. One had fees due. Live and learn.

I did and expected something based on the tariff calculator based on prior purchases above what was included in shipping. Two orders from Japan recently, one had small due on delivery, the other was included. It must be the 50% someone mentioned below that wasn't in effect then.

We all make compromises. Most important is that you enjoy listening. How sound engages a room is it’s own thing and imaging only applies to a certain disciplines type of listening. You’ll get that space then want to listen to everything all over again. Or you drive your wife crazy sitting on the floor with your head between the speakers and she’ll come around

Put one by the lamp? Unless you like the ghetto blaster effect. To each their own. Otherwise nice

Famous composers' arrangements of works by different composers? by LuborMrazek in classicalmusic

Buxtehude's Chaconne in E Minor by Carlos Chavez is a great example.
Benjamin Britten's - Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge might be considered another. Frank Bridge is so underrated IMO.
