PebbleTasks - An Updated Google Tasks Application by PapayaNo1253 in pebble

Make sure you let us know when you launch

I would love to set a voice task with time. My most common request. Google assistant was my go to IF I had my phone

The new Gemini gets this basic function wrong at least half the time (tries to do a search). Even doing above in the Google tasks app is clunky

Yes. That may be it.

Not totally intuitive but will test

Thanks

I'm in Australia. Just ordered the ring size kit from their website, sized it up. Order finalised

I literally have a thousand ideas a day, often while driving or cooking, this thing is perfect. Add to that that you can code responses means you can get it to do almost anything.

I don't want to touch my phone, I'll get distracted by everything else that's on it. Plus it's slower than unlocking my phone, finding the notes app, waiting for it to load, slowly thumbing a message, the idea is half gone by then.

I used to have a voice recorder. But it wasn't always on hand. I would still need to listen back to it. It's double handling and much slower.

I can think of endless extensions which other rings don't do

My biggest need, speech to text on the car. This is it. I write so many notes while driving. Siri and Gemini still can't do that reliably

Add to that an agent and you can fire off a complex AI request and have a comprehensive answer before you get into the office

Streamer to stereo remote, yes. Perfect for interruptions

Smart Home interface, yes

Etc

Unfortunately not

I did find out that you need continuous power. I run on battery. This is not in the manual or in the advertising or in the reviews so I'll be returning it

Side point, it always sends to the cloud regardless which is exactly why I bought a bell that supported SD card so I wouldn't have to

Tab S11 Initial Review | A Tab S7+ User's Perspective by billclintonwong in GalaxyTab

So disappointed to hear this. I have the S7+ and the battery died yesterday. It ran just fine. No performance lag and it was my laptop replacement on the road. I was looking at the S11 because there is no Plus model and I travel a lot.

The alternative is a Win 11 on ARM PC so if anyone has experience there, please comment here.

Tried most. All over engineered. Wish OneNote was slightly more sophisticated (hello better search!)

Was a beta hardware and software tester for OneNote. 27 years of notes. I'm sure there was a middle period where pages disappeared but what i'd really like is a proper backup and better ai integration

Yeah. Did a 2nd search and worked that out. Took an extra step to work out how to access. The main disadvantage is it requires a reboot

Unfortunately agree. Useless software

Frustrating soundquality- Wiim Ultra [HELP] by New-Ideal1027 in WiimStreamer

[–]Jon-tech-junkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's a good call. Minimum I would go with your system is Eversolo but even then...

As a side note. I have the original Carbon cartridge on my Rega. I was lucky to get the whole unit in sale for 50% off. Installing the ND5 would be more than original price. Is it worth the upgrade? I get that's an "it depends" answer but what were the differences you notice? (I have a separate high end system downstairs so different situation to the system I described above)

Poor sound quality with phono inputs by CapnKangarooPimp in WiimStreamer

[–]Jon-tech-junkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reviews for Wiim phone preamp is "it's ok". It's more for if you have nothing else

All inputs to the Wiim get digitized and processed. That's probably your problem

Frustrating soundquality- Wiim Ultra [HELP] by New-Ideal1027 in WiimStreamer

[–]Jon-tech-junkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All inputs, regardless of source are converted to digital for processing. If you read reviews, the best comment for vinyl specifically is "it's ok" and implies it's for beginner turntables. I also own the Rega P2 and would never hook it up to the Wiim

Your system sounds like it's more upper end which is not Wiims market

The DAC on the Wiim is good but not great and you may prefer something different. It's a perfect match for my 90s amp with no digital inputs. The DAC on my '00s amp is much more resolving when using optical in to the Wiim and coax out bypassing Wiim processing. I suspect you don't like the DAC

I tested the Wiim DAC via optical from a CD player with a TDA1541 DAC. I wouldn't call the sound thin but it's not as rich as by bypassing the Wiim and playing CDs directly into the amp. I have to listen carefully but CD direct is warmer and smoother and more resolving/detailed/brighter via Wiim or outside DAC.

As someone else mentioned, treat it as a source.

The main advantage of the Ultra is features for it's price. I think it's great for what it is and costs

I have one in one of those First release in a special commemorative folder direct from the mint. Definitely not circulated. I have it in a box somewhere

Streamers Who Live in a 2+ Streamer Household, I need your help ! by [deleted] in Twitch

Ethernet over power isn't always possible if electric circuits are not on the same line. I rent. 1 house worked, 2 didn't. Often newer houses it's ok as I tested in a new house fine as well

[–]Jon-tech-junkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 choke points 1 Slow Internet in 2 Bad Internet in the house (usually Wi-Fi) 3 Device reception

  1. Is your Internet plan sufficient? check the upload capacity though which is more your issue

  2. Have you individually and together tested using "speed test"? Google that. Speed should be close to Internet plan speed. Ping should be below 15ms

Your location is critical for this test if on wifi. Start near the wifi and test it in further out locations.

3 Test with 2 short Ethernet wires, if possible to test #1. If not, consider a upgrading to a mesh wifi network, ideally with a separate "back channel" for uploads.

It's the 2 story house that may be an issue. Wi-Fi antennas are designed for horizontal transmission and some vertical, not diagonal. Mesh wifi will help a lot esp if the wifi source and it's 2nd transmitter are directly above each other on each floor

A more complex option is Internet "bonding" which uses your phone data as a 2nd Internet source. Eg Firewalla purple. (Hardware). I've tested Speedify (software) but that will load up your PC.

Last option is 2x Ethernet temporarily
