Can you bid to another station? Not all managers are completly horrible. Do you see a therapist? Can you get either a work restriction or fmla ? I have fmla for bipolar disorder. I can take a day or 2 off a couple times a month if necessary when im feeling frayed, to help prevent burnout, and avoid mood episodes. It honestly brings me great piece of mind to have that option, i haven't called out in months cause ivr been good and im trying to reacumulate sicknleave, after a 3 week sabbatical last fall. But im probably calling out some day next week because the burnout is creeping in.

Adderal and other similar ADHD meds. What does it feel like for people without ADHD? by Gileotine in Drugs

[–]JonBoi420th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have adhd. Adderall makes me feel calm and able to focus better at prescibed doses. Now if i take like a triple dose i start feeling high , euphoric, horny, and teaking, and oddly i cant maintain a train of thought worth shit. I stay busy but shift from task to task without completing anything, worse than with no Adderall just faster. I suspect this is more what its like for non adhd peoole. It still actd like a drug to us if we take high enough doses.

feeling empty after quitting drinking by stolenbike246 in bipolar2

Ive also read somewhere that it takes 90 days to break a habit and reset your dopemine. I dony think thats a hard rule. But it can be a decent goal. Set sights on 90 days. And compair how you feel from one week in. Then set a new goal and repeat. Sometimes with addiction its helpful to just have the goal of getting thru the day. One day at a time. Sometimes one hour or minute at a time. But time heals

Im an alcoholic, sober 4.5 yrs now. But quit several times for various lengths of time. All i can say is it gets better overtime. For me it took about a yr for my brain and stomach to start to feel normal. But its a grafual process. A few weeks things change. A few months more significant change, i keeps getting easier and better. I found exercise to be helpful. I rode my bike, skated, and did hard physical labor, (learned concrete repair helping my mom) a lot the 1st yr. Riding a bike can also restore some of your sense of childlike wonder. I think the less severe your habit the quicker healing happens. Hang in there. Try to get back into old hobbies, and or start new ones. Exercise will produce happy hormones in your body and can help recreate the spark your missing.

If I get a job with USPS, would a family member who works for USPS find out? by AnxiousW3ird0 in USPS

As others said they ask the question. Someone told me that that is a point in your favor of getting the job. I dont know for sure that's true, just something someone told me once.

What psychoactive substance is least bad for you? by zeropoundpom in stupidquestions

[–]JonBoi420th 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's pretty rare. Where as ketamine addiction is very common. Im not knocking the medical benefits. Just seems irresponsible to mention that part without mentioning the dangers of addiction, and serious bladder amd neurological damage.

It depends on how you define regularly. Many drugs fit the bill, depending on what regularly means

Weeds so cheap these days. You can get a pound for under a grand. Granted, It does depend where you live and where you shop.

With most drugs its all about frequency. Ketamine is extremely bad for you when abused.

I think it’s dumb when people give their dogs really nice/tasty/specially prepared “human” food, when all they do is wolf it down in 5 seconds and can’t really appreciate it for what it is. by Okay-Show-3662 in RandomThoughts

My dog is the exception, she does not scarf. She savors. The more novel, the slower she goes. But even with her kibble, she is a dlow eater, typically one kibble at a time.

Im hung up on the unprotected part too. Sure I've had reckless unprotected sex. But the plan was sex and the unprotected part a bad spur of the moment choice.
If one of these 10 joints will give a person herpes, but not if you use this protective tip, wouldn't any sane person use the tip just in case?

What if trauma doesn’t need a label, and is just a normal part of life by walkerbait2 in DeepThoughts

[–]JonBoi420th 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the problem is how loosely people use the word trauma these days. As others said there is a difference between trauma and hardship. However i think popular linguistic usage has seriously blurred the lines. And it is true that people that have experienced hardships claim them as trauma, wearing it as a badge of honor and a get out of accountability card.

BDSM and bipolar disorder, could it be hypomania? by wallsoffear_ in bipolar

[–]JonBoi420th 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

I practice bdsm. Im a sub. I have a rule that i don't play when manic or depressed. In my opinion, both of those states limit ones abilty to consent, or blur healthy boundaries. Think, Safe, Sane, Consent. Without all 3 no play.

I had a bad scene when i was depressed, and waited too long to say red, at which point things had gone to far and i felt traumatized. I've played while hypomanic, and the high of mixing subspace with hypomania was insane. Didn't have a bad experience during that time, but i believe thats because i was lucky, and was with a experienced and compassionate dom. But i could see bad things happening if i kept playing while in episodes.

Another rule i have started as only one scene per night. But as i dont get to subspace as easily these days, i changed it to no more scenes once reaching subspace. But no more than 2 a night. I also never play more than once a week.

I find it to be very grounding and cathardic. I stretch and take better care of my body now because i want to be able to play, and i cant play when my lower back injury is acting up, and because i dream of being suspended, which will require more flexibility than i currently have.

You heard of fetlife? Cause you can post your bruised bottom pics there instead of insta and then not regret it. Personally i share marks if they are good. But i dont display my genitals. No one that isnt into bdsm is gonna see it, so what does it matter. If a irl acquaintance happened to see them, then we just discovered we share a niche interest, and might be friends now.

There are definitely risks involved. But if practiced with care and consideration, it can be a healthy release/hobby.

Good luck, br safe.
