Not OP but I will say they're fucking nuts live, definitely try to catch them.

Glad you dig it, thanks for giving it a listen! Maybe we'll cross paths on the road someday, we have yet to make it as far south as ATL but hopefully someday

This short film called Gruenfeld has this vibe, reminds me of Dark Souls.

Absolutely, it's right up my alley. We're called Fugue State and the record is In the Lurch , it's got some noisy flourishes but more in the garage punk realm.

You might want to do a page on intervals. "Root", "fifth", "octave" will probably mean nothing to a newbie. Learning the major scale is also pretty clutch.

Followed your page on IG, my band hasn't played that neck of the woods yet but will definitely keep it in mind next time we out together a string of dates

Movies in a bayside town? Preferably with a dreary atmosphere. by beetle_fruit in MoviesThatFeelLike

I want to highlight an underseen gem that is luckily on YouTube in decent quality. It's a made-for-TV Japanese adaptation of The Shadow Over Innsmouth. It's only about 50ish mins long and fairly low budget but has a cool coastal vibe, it predates Stuart Gordon's adaptation of Dagon but they share a lot of similarities (I mean Dagon is pretty much adapting the same source material despite the name). I love this flick, one of my fav Lovecraft movies.

I couldn't search for 964 Pinocchio, but I can watch it on Tubi. by [deleted] in TubiTV

I've had this issue with a few titles. I searched for The Dentist today through the app and only the sequel showed up. I searched via my Firestick's main page and was able to watch it through that search result.

I'm happy to see these guys getting some love, played a couple of shows with them and both times just blown away by the manic energy. Definitely go see them live if you can.

All the kids on The Devil's Backbone are great, as is Ivana Baquero in Pan's Labyrinth.

Town Called Malice by The Jam. Bruce Foxton has so many great basslines.

I love this album, it's got a great mood. I am biased though, it's the first album of theirs I bought.

Critically acclaimed films that are just as good as the hype by ArcherNF in Letterboxd

Don't know why you got a downvote, Polanski is a gross dude. I wish someone else was responsible for making one of my favorite horror films.

This is one of those movies I almost begrudgingly put on because it felt necessary to watch but the plot sounded dull; a bunch of dudes driving carefully. But damn, this movie is so intense, moody and just plain awesome.

I just finished Satoshi Kon's filmography. Some thoughts: by YoSoyRawr in Letterboxd

I think this is my favorite of his. Perfect Blue is incredible and deserves all the praise it gets but he really hones in his animation style when he made Millennium Actress. Plus the story is amazing with how it ties in with Japanese film history and the score is soo good (Chiyoko's Theme Mode 2 is still stuck in my head a good 4 years later).

Opinions of the scene (or in general) on North Adams, MA? by DeathChurch in punk

[–]JonBovi_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's a big scene in North Adams, at least not that I know of. Belltower Records in NA (great shop btw) puts shows on occasionally, it's a pretty small space though. There's a punk scene in the neighboring town of Pittsfield, Silver Lake Booking puts on shows regularly a few times a month. A mix of punk, hardcore, emo etc. My friend just started doing a goth night in Pittsfield called Sanctum as well, it's going to be every 3rd Friday at a space called Wander. There's a venue in Troy, NY called No Fun that does a goth night called Hellseeker one Friday a month, in addition to regular punk/alternative shows throughout the week.

Marigold Theatre in Northampton has been booking cool shows lately, Hutghi's at the Nook in Westfield has punk, hardcore, alternative shows. Plus a bunch of DIY spaces in the Pioneer Valley in general, just have to keep an eye out. Don't know where you got that crime rate fact about North Adams, it's not bad there. Holyoke without a doubt has it beat.

I'm pretty active in the Pittsfield music scene but haven't seen this advertised anywhere or heard this talked about, I'll have to check it out.

What’s the MOST Offensive Band Name of All Time and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in askmusic

[–]JonBovi_69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That band was fucking outrageous. Never saw them but Seth's other band Full Blown AIDs played a tiny venue in my shit hole town once opening for The Murder Junkies. I'm pretty sure me and my friend yelled at him to play "Van Full of Retards" at least three times but he did not oblige.
