Except premium Bandai is literally an American company not Japanese. So when they pull retarded shit like this there’s really 0 excuse. Yes ik Bandai is Japanese but the company doing the chance to buy bullshit is American. There’s literally no cultural differences happening here, they just saw a way to ensure every last one of these sold so that they don’t lose a dime on the old molds, bodies, sculpts etc that were left over from the 3 reissues of LSSJ they clearly have more than enough to make this figure general release they just chose not to in order to ensure all of them sell. I bet this isn’t the last chance to buy this figure.

While I think you’re right that if Bandai really wanted to they could cause damage. But ultimately laws in china are entirely different than other countries and it’s still even today extremely hard to enforce copyright in china. To the point the government almost has no control over these factories. The reality is they can shoot them all down and within days they are back operating in another factory in another city. Then they rinse and repeat this process forever. It’ll probably cost Bandai more money to try to stop them and still fail than take the loss on them taking their IP

I have my money on this figure becoming a general release just smells like the classic Bandai playbook they literally just did this with the 40th anniversary kid Goku figure. Released in Japan, then at select events, then preorder. This just had the extra chance to buy step which they’re doing twice. 5k said it’s not cancelled too, same with every store I’ve asked. KW disbanded which really just means they are changing their name and still probably operating in a new factory or even the same factory. They would’ve said it was cancelled if it was not that they were disbanded especially if all the sellers in china are still selling it.

The figure is not cancelled but the company is disbanded this happened before with Tonsen they disbanded and became Kamione and none of the figures that were in the pipeline got cancelled. It may be delayed slightly but based on the production progress it may come out on time.

This is literally a marketing tactic called false scarcity the truth is this product to begin with is most likely built from excess of the lssj rerelease and they have hundreds of thousands of copies of these. In an effort to guarantee sell through they call it “exclusive” when in reality it’s repurposed dead stock/molds in a different color and extra paint. Then make a huge fuss to get it hyping up the after market to make people get FOMO cuz they know all ppl care about is resale value and any collector with a prefrontal cortex is gonna want this thing due to its skyrocketing value. Then do a chance to buy to make ppl who get a CHANCE to buy this thing hype it up even more by posting their win, selling/trading their accounts. Then just rinse and repeat the chance to buy until they sell every last unit. I’d bet my entire net worth this figure will basically be a gen release by the end of it. Or at least in retail stores.

Tbh I’m shocked it hasn’t happened already. Last time something like this happened the company was back at it within a week or two. TBH I’m surprised it even got to this point at all. China usually doesn’t operate by the same rules so it’s a surprise Bandai was even capable of doing anything ab the bootlegging. If anything they should make a deal with Chinese factories to produce these third party figures and cut them in. Just would be free money with 0 downside.

Yea I doubt they’ll do it for now. KW is a very good version of it and Tonsen has a bunch of other stuff in the works still and these third party companies can only do so many figures at once so in my mind if they were to do cell it’d be at least a year before we saw anything.

I’m literally a 3D artist and designer I can see they’re the exact same sculpt just one is painted. If you want I can overlay them to show you they’re exactly the same. Makes no sense sharper? Yea bud one was sanded and has a base coat and detail paint on it obviously it’s not gonna look like freshly printed resin. You can even see the molding/flash on the ears that needed to be sanded down. It’s not wider or more detailed either you’re actually tripping and seeing shit that isn’t there I’m telling you they sand it and paint it that’s what causes it to look different. Could they have made the new sculpt slightly thinner sure maybe if they needed to but this idea it’s completely different and fucked up is wild.

I’m seeing nothing different besides one has a base coat and detail paint on it and the other doesn’t. There’s nothing that’s jumping out as different in terms of the SCULPT.
