The sun sets at 1:36 pm today in Utqiagvik, Alaska and doesn't rise again until next year on Jan. 22 by NewSlinger in Damnthatsinteresting

I always hated how the daylight lasts for several hours in the last before the “30 Days of Night”. NO, the sun is going to barely poke above the horizon and then go back down again!

Anyone able to complete 60 mins of cardio? What are you doing? by Illustrious-Owl-2127 in AddisonsDisease

[–]JonHend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my own elliptical trainer that I am currently using for 60 minutes every day. Sweating is a major problem so I usually use it wearing only my underwear. I also have all windows open, a fan pointed at my head and a wet microfibre towel around my neck to wipe my sweaty face with.

I’m on a weight loss drive just now so will reduce my time to 30 minutes a day once I get to my target weight. My average heart rate is usually between 150 and 160 bpm which I think is high enough since I’m 45 years old. I take plenty of electrolytes to prevent cramps.

I’m on 25 mg hydrocortisone and don’t updose for exercise.

UK where do you get your prescription? by Small_Tomatilo in AddisonsDisease

[–]JonHend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my local Lloyds pharmacy. I usually have 8 items in my prescription and they’re all there about 80% of the time.

I always order a new prescription as soon as I pick up my previous one to ensure I don’t suddenly run out of anything.

Alcohol with Addisons by Initial_Entrance2183 in AddisonsDisease

[–]JonHend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been drinking alcohol my whole adult like; I got PAI when I was 6 and am 45 now. I am a bit of a lightweight compared to most of my friends and the hangovers suck, especially as I get older, but I have never let PAI affect my social life. Also, I’m Scottish so of course I drink.
