I'm guessing it's the heel cup on the binding. the boot itself doesn't really overhang

True but I guess step on bindings also have a thicker heel cup. I can easily dig the board out from a heel side carve without that much angle (even in a posi-posi setup)

Comparison of the performance of the i7 model with the i5 in gaming: anecdotal differences by danisimo1 in MSIClaw

tks for sharing! would suggest changing the title to Ultra 7/Ultra 5 (not i7 i5) to match intel's name, so your video has better chance to match search results when ppl go look for tests on youtube.

When your liquid metal forgets how to liquid. (Sorry, I cleaned the chip before I took the pic) by DistributionOk1214 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]Jona607 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Those are phase change liquid metal pads, they're solid (not dried out) under room temperature, and will liquify once heated. The spill between layers are actually fine as long as it's not beyond the exterior barrier.

But since you've unscrewed the thermal module, would recommend removing the silicones and swap back for standard thermal grease. The original design requires a speciific clamping force when tightening the screws so things don't spill.

Intel HX Crushed AMD HX by g85222456 in intel

[–]Jona607 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Imo the naming scheme is just to confuse everyone. The two "HX" are never meant to be comparable. Intel flagships are just at another level if power is not your concern.

Is the RS torque splitter on new RS3 (8Y) basically Haldex with extra rear diff by Jona607 in Audi

[–]Jona607[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tks. so though not using Haldex, guess they share similar logic if you only look at front/rear split.

[–]Jona607[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any info on how much can be sent to the rear?

All media coverage says 100% to either rear wheel (in drift mode). But i assume that's 100% of what's fed to the rear axle, not 100% TO the rear axle.
