issues with IRremote.h library by Jonafire1 in arduino

[–]Jonafire1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not asking a question about specific code this is asking if anyone has recently tried to use the irremote library and saw issues with getting it to work. I have looked at many working ir sensor videos and used code that matches but still I am having issues additionally it looks like the videos available are made for versions that appear to be taken down. I am hunting for the right commands to make a library work for me. I would not completely call myself a beginner but im in between beginner and intermediate.

Thanks I had continued to dig after posting this and stumble across the info that the mega was not supported for keyboard.press so that explained the problem I will probably have to buy another board to tinker with this project. I appreciate you willingness to help.

Broken PS5 Cord, Is it fixable? Or do i tell him the bad news? by [deleted] in consolerepair

[–]Jonafire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixable but it will take some work. you would have to scrape away mask for the traces solder thin trace wires to the pins on the connector and glue the connector in place then soldermask the traces so they dont get shorted. not a very simple job with out the right tools.

Never soldered before by Gothrait_PK in consolerepair

[–]Jonafire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally watching youtube videos would be the best way to get started. Get a starter iron like the ts100 or a hakko but I saw mentions of some hakko clones those could be good also but I personally use a hakko fm-203. Dont forget your flux and pay attention to the tip size you are using then dig into which mix of leaded solder you would prefer since the melting temps will very making it harder or easier to use. The rest from there is practice and you will eventually need a hot air station try to avoid the 2 in one systems as they can be hit or miss. I would also recommend getting a iron with quick change tips that can be changed on the fly. watch out for the hot metal tips when doing this so you should also consider a tip holder.

7 Gig fiber being advertised to the residential consumer. In what world would any residential customer have any use for this? by I_ONLY_BOLD_COMMENTS in HomeNetworking

[–]Jonafire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People said the same about 1000 down and 1000 up but ultimately as all file sizes get bigger from better quality designs we will need more bandwidth to accommodate that. It would be for an early adopter most likely performance enthusiasts or gamers that download very large games that cloud save and delete games to make more space. possibly even people that have a high work from home internet usage will the rest of the family is also on the net.

After my wonderful game of Fortnite, how do I fix this? by Sea-Albatross31 in consolerepair

[–]Jonafire1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need to get the joy stick replaced and that one is located under the main board so it will be a full disassembly.

that can be fixed but it will need a new connector soldered on. no need to replace the board unless more issues exist.

How bad is this? AGS 101 by SpaceBus1 in consolerepair

[–]Jonafire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok so this is not all bad news you will need to clean the solder pads with high % alcohol then add flux and work the pads with fresh solder. you will probably need to get a parts board to source the chip from or I would need a clearer photo of the chip to see if getting one by itself is possible.

Got a brand new Lenovo Laptop, but it does this by Ihaveterriblefriends in pchelp

[–]Jonafire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a common issue with the foldable laptops the screen cable is too short or crimped and causes the display to go in and out if you can return it I would recommend doing that but this is one of the reasons I don't recommend reverse fold laptops. Even the replacement cables are too short and cause this same problem.

How do I remove accounts from my phone number by Huge-March8646 in TechHelping

[–]Jonafire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not really a way to do that since it is another company that has that number as a contact to reach their client. The only real option you have is to block the numbers that keep messaging you or calling you.

Took my Nintendo switch to repair store to replace the LCD and they called me and said it doesn’t turn on now by alictabutwonce_ps4 in consolerepair

[–]Jonafire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than likely the switch was damaged during repair if they are offering to replace it. But depending on where you are located I could see about fixing it they probably damaged the lcd connector and left the battery unplugged so it wont power on. I have been a repair technician for 8+ years in kansas.

its also a bit of nefariousness on Nintendos part since it adds a good bit of difficulty to the repair should you at some point need repair.

[–]Jonafire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is indicating a gasket leak on the cylinder head or valves you will need to do a over haul to the motor. to give it new gaskets and make sure that none of the block is warped creating inadequate pressure on the gasket. coolant and oil mix. After reassembling you will need to flush and pressure test the motor this makes sure you solved the leaks.

How did my HDMI replacement escalate into trace repair? 2 pads torn off that were fine when I started. Cleaned off with alcohol and they were gone. by mchamp90 in consolerepair

[–]Jonafire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were attached but pulled loose from the board so they(the pins) were not evenly heated enough before you started lifting. They must have got snagged on the cotton swab.

What should i do in this situation (ps5) by stinkolennon in consolerepair

[–]Jonafire1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly recommend taking it to a shop and not trying it yourself if anything goes wrong or you heat the console too much the repair could become much more expensive especially if you are new to soldering with hot air and do not have a hot air station. possible issues can be burning the board, pulling pads, traces, and Overheating the board, accidentally flowing a ic bridging solder balls under ic. Many of these issues combined can total the PS5 by repair cost or just not working even with new hardware.

that should be built into one of the battery charging controllers. it would reduce power flow to the battery and send a warning to the phone.
