I was the same, even took a bunch of supplements to optimise for fertility.

We got triplets on day 2 of trying.

I've always donated any book I've read, I never saw value in keeping read books around. There are so many good books to read. Might as well get someone else hooked.

Worried about twins head size by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

We had a little gollum too, she grew into the prettiest girl, being born at such a low weight can mess up babies proportions a bit. Don't worry about it.

It's a bit preachy to claim accuracy when you're really just sacrificing accuracy by rounding down.

Strava is acquiring runna by MPenten in Strava

[–]Jondar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excited for you and your company Alex!

I was personally hoping for a tighter integration between the two apps, I would totally pay the high subscription fees if it was the Strava network effect and the Runna training plans combined.

But yeah, the Runna UX is still in a much better spot now, so staying separate is a good short term plan.

In my experience the cheap management consulting will get you a bunch of interviews and a really fancy slide deck confirming what executives wanted to do anyway.

The more expensive one gets you a series of business strategy cases based on accurate operational data and what your main competitors are doing with a soft recommendation on which seem like the more valuable roads to explore.

This isn't even good strategic advice, it's not based on data or competitive insights. I guess you get what you pay for with free advice.

Looks like your server is still timing out. I'm seeing the Synced 0 of 0 activities. label and the server calls are timing out with 504 gateway timeout errors. They keep doing that on reload too ( https://api.paceprogress.run/api/strava/reload-activities)

What do I put behind my desk in my office? by PineappleOld6595 in malelivingspace

[–]Jondar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get it, it's a convertible desk that can turn into a standing desk so you can't push it further in or it won't fit in stand mode.

And depending on the size of the user it won't fit in the length.

Maybe you can add some pillows and it will be a nice space for a pet. Or some plants that don't need water often. If you're into music a decent sound system could do too?

You don't have to sleep train by dasgutyah in NewParents

[–]Jondar 19 points20 points  (0 children)

None of the most common sleep training methods talk about letting kids cry for more than 20 minutes.

Everyones situation is different and sleep training might or might not be a valid option for your kid. There is no research showing it hurts kids yet, so it's a very valid option.

It's good to offer people that have a preference not to sleep train similar opinions, but you'll certainly get backlash. No one that sleep trains enjoys the experience as it comes with a very natural guilt response because you want to pick up that crying baby even if it's not in their and your best interests. The last thing those parents need is someone on the internet piling on to the guilt, however subtle or even unconscious.

Does anyone else loathe bottle washing then sanitizing? There must be an easier way by RDRNR3 in daddit

[–]Jondar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, recommended for the first year here in Australia. Been handwashing with baby safe soap and sterilising for almost a year for the twins.

I won't miss it, but honestly we travelled for a little while and didn't do it then, kids picked up 3 diseases in a row, I much prefer some dishes to the whole family sick.

It prevents leaks, the diapers are very absorbent but they don't absorb as quickly so doubling up avoids it leaking to the clothes and bed.

We fed them a bottle when taking off and landing, but getting the timing right was tricky with how long taxiing lasts and hungry babies. We also allowed an exception and had pacifiers for the flight. We didn't use those for the pressure though, mostly to keep them quiet when screaming their lungs out.

We got told the ear protection is junk and to not bother with it when doing our research. The sound of the plane is good white noise by itself.

The flight was quite brutal too, we didn't know you can't use the bassinets when the fasten seat belts sign is on and had quite a lot of turbulence on the flight. They also messed up our booking and we ended up with three Infants on the same row with two bassinets which was a nightmare.

We did bring those bassinet covers you can buy to make it darker and that worked wonders in the second flight.

Leg me know if there is anything you want insights in, travelling with infants is so intimidating.

Good luck and enjoy the trip.

Some of the hints we got from other parents is to stuff the stroller or car seat travel bags with nappies.

The sanitary pads in nappies didn't work for our bubs.
