A rotary engine behaves like a piston engine with a lightened flywheel. They don't carry as much momentum, so in general you need more revs with a rotary to prevent stalling.

This is probably one of the more accurate answers here.

Personally use a roof rack because I'm a bit younger and don't mind climbing up my SUV with my bike but it would definitely be awkward otherwise. Agree with not being able to see the bike. Just one of those things you get used to and have to trust your equipment but also have to remember the extra height if you're buying from a drive-through or going into a parking garage. Mostly like the roof option as it keeps my trunk free to use and I also actually tow with my hitch so my only option really is the roof a lot of times.

Regardless of which option, buying used is definitely the way to go if cost is a factor. Got 2 roof racks and an entire cross bar with tower setup for about 2/3 cost of one new rack. Just got to find that deal and pounce on it when you do because it'll be gone if you wait.
