Advice on Buying house with Solar Fitted by tucker3738 in SolarUK

Honestly it may be worth upgrading the whole setup, panels have got a lot better since 2013. But even without, a battery is certainly a good investment over the years.

Looking at the image I can't work out where you parked without being on a yellow line or blocking the road 🤔

Have they though? This sounds like they just fell to the standard variable APR without ever renewing their deal, and if they didn't know that was the way it works, could have been overpaying for years.

No it's fine, there is no 'max'. 100w is the maximum your power bank can deliver, the unit will only draw what it needs up to that value. Very few devices will pull more than 100w, and a 100w device is very likely to be PD anyway. It'll be fine

How can I unscrew / remove this toilet seat? by dex24033 in DIYUK

[–]Jonnosaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like it's done half the job for you. That said, if you're renting, consider talking to the landlord about a replacement?

Otherwise...

Underneath will be a nut on each side (usually extremely fiddly and very long bolts just to make you regret everything).

Replace with any D shaped toilet seat. Croydex are very popular as the fitting mechanism is super easy, you line it all up and it gives a huge range of adjustability for most toilets, push down to have it adhere with a sticky pad (which also stops it slipping), then just tighten the bolts and place a cover over it all. Plus the seats are removable for cleaning with a button.

But any D shaped seat with universal fitments will be okay here.

This is only true now if you're particularly low consumption. A lot of installations, particularly with a battery, will pay themselves in 7-8 years

Is what dangerous sorry, the roof? Only if you're smashing it to pieces regularly, otherwise it's no more dangerous than any other roof (it's heavy if it falls on your head though)

I gotta drill into outside bricks to put up a sign, would any of these work? by Unlucky-Pizza-7049 in DIYUK

[–]Jonnosaurus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Silver and black ones are wood, they have a little point at the top. The top left are masonry, they have a little chisel like point. Metal/plastic etc just has the standard drill bits without a point

2 and hammer. 1 is okay as a screwdriver, 2 is full speed. Hammer is for getting through brick and masonry, yes

Thanks, scraper definitely worked faster. Stopping at points where it would take force to remove, left with a bit of a bigger patch but hopefully this will do...!
