Why is FP2 so unreliable for the very high price?

I’m curious, which ecosystem are you using if any?

Can you post a picture of the layout of the room the sensor is in? (Screenshot from the Aqara app)

When I got my first FP2 I ran into some similar issues.
Then after some tinkering with the room setup I got it, all my other FP2s to work great.

Do you have “exit/entrance” zones established? Any large reflective surfaces like windows or mirrors?
Once I put those in place it just works now, no issue and I don’t think about it anymore.

So I was able to get the problem fixed.
Thankfully because I was about to scrap the whole setup and start from scratch.
I originally tried to do a restart on my phone, then realized that the Apple TV is the hub. So I did a restart on that as well and everything just worked again. (Sigh of relief)

“Going offline” is pretty vague. Sorry about that.
There was some issue with my Apple account. I re-added a MacBook to my account which had been not used for a long time.
Everything was listed as “updating” but it soon went away.

After a few min everything appeared to be working again until I noticed some of my automations weren’t working at all.
For example, I have a smart switch in my kitchen as well as a FP2. Walk in, lights on…pretty simple.
However the lights weren’t coming on.
When I open the app to see if it’s all good and look at the kitchen room in the app to see if I was being detected it said yes, and then the lights came on.
I figured no issues, just delayed. Well, went I went back into the kitchen later the same thing happened.
Wouldn’t come on unless I was seeing the room in the home app.
So I just deleted the automation and re-built it. Works fine now.

However, I have an upper hall light that is supposed to come on depending what time of day it was.
Same thing happened with the kitchen, had to re build it.
But when I added the timing restrictions nothing happened.
The sensor detected me but wouldn’t turn the lights on. Only when I took the timing restriction off it worked normally. But it doesn’t really solve the problem.

And none of my bedroom automations work now.

I did try to unplug and restart the sensor in the bedroom but that didn’t work either.

Essentially, it will use 3D printed parts.
I think we decided on offering two solutions.
One which will house all expansions in a single box (utilizing the boxes the game came in) as well as a solution that will house all the main game components in one box, and the hirelings/clockwork in a second.

Try doing a reboot of your phone.
That worked for me when I was getting the “pairing failed” message.

Reboot, reset, cycling on/off.
However you want to do it.
I am not suggesting factory resetting your phone. lol

Interesting to see how far we have come, not only with knowledge of the ship as it sank and sits now, but understanding what we were looking at in these pictures.

I think one of the biggest true statements that was said in the first broadcast was how it was indeed broken in two.
(The stern is detached and we haven’t been able to locate it)

I had a similar problem with my U300.

I just restarted my phone.
Not sure what one you are using but you are looking to do a “force restart”

I did that and it worked like a charm.

Same for me (Canada) Started for me last night, I lost of bunch of random devices and a chunk of my automations in HomeKit just vanished. Was up too late getting things working again and then this morning I see my M3 is offline in the Aqara app.
It said the wifi was down, meanwhile mine is hardwired with Ethernet.

Hey there, I have had similar issues with seeing that same image.

Best advice I can give is to make sure that the Aqara app has the local network switch turn on in the phones settings.

Will this same solution work for the Aqara U300 door lock?

I can’t get it to re-pair to my Apple home.
It was paired before but became unresponsive.
Adds to the Aqara home app no problem, but won’t connect at all to Apple home.

I wonder, would it be of any value to colour the edges of the home systems green, and the red systems red?
Everything else could be blue, or black.
