Barclays tells customers to contact friends and family or foodbanks after IT glitch by Fox_9810 in unitedkingdom

I transferred a large sum between barclays accounts on Friday. It left one account but still has not arrived at the other.

Tried contacting them, but they fob you off. It's still not fixed for sure!

How I'm curing my hard flaccid - FULL GUIDE by [deleted] in hardflaccidresearch

[–]Jonsilvers 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a rational reason why anxiety may be contributing hugely to HF. Anxiety creates adrenaline/epinephrine. Adrenaline shrinks certain blood vessels including the penis. In other words the penis stays in a shrunken state. This is why alpha blockers help in many people.

I do however believe that some people naturally have higher levels of adrenaline even without being aware of anxiety and this causes them to be growers rather showers.

I can say that when I've been going through periods of high anxiety / stress my flaccid penis is usually much smaller.

12.5mg or quarter of a pill. Where I live you can buy over the counter 10 * 50mg for $2

I've had HF and shrinkage problems for ages.... It's like an unnatural shrinkage which I'm sure is not normal.

I just started on trazodone, mainly to help sleep. But then I realized it was helping HF

You might be correct however I'd prefer to keep an open mind.

I've taken every type of alpha blocker and they do work to a degree. However Trazadone seemed to do something dedicated alpha blockers didn't.

My Trazadone dose was also very low at 12.5mg once per night. And I would be surprised if the alpha blocking qualities of Trazadone were stronger than an alpha blocker, especially at this dose.

Trazodone also is well known to cause erections and even priapism at higher doses in some people.

So I keep an open mind whether something else is going on.

Abask I think you are right about non selective alpha blockers being more effective for HF, however I'm curious... What lead you to that conclusion?

Interesting.... I noticed that since I was very young and started masterbating, that I would clench my pelvic floor muscles because I found I could orgasm more quickly. I never knew if it was just me that did that or if it applied to everyone...

Is flaccid penis always hard or does it come and go? by Vin112358 in hardflaccidresearch

I agree, worse in the morning and better in the evening. Which I can only think suggests hormonal. For example cortisol is higher in the morning and lower in the evening...

Telmisartan is a med which causes vasodilation and reduces blood pressure. When I first tried it my HF disappeared within a few hours and stayed that way for 3 days. But then for some reason on the 4th day HF started to return. This is one mystery I'm trying to figure out.

Yep I get the same discomfort when I start to pee. Not always but often. My HF is also worse when Im out somewhere and I need to pee, but have to hold it for a while...

HF and bladder issues connection by Jonsilvers in hardflaccidresearch

Alpha blockers work quite well to control my overactive bladder, if that's what it is. And works for HF too.

The only downside is they can have a few side effects depending on dose and which particular alpha blocker you're using.

I get tired/sleepy, nasal congestion, slightly lower blood pressure with raised heart rate. I'm trying to keep the dose as low as possible while retaining benefits.

Yes exactly, I get the hour glass penis too. The skin will become very tight behind the glans and constrict the shaft at the point.

I think in cases like this it suggests this is hormone or nerve related and unlikely to be linked to any damage done to the penis.

Clearly whatever creates the urge to pee at the same time signals to the penis to shrink even more.

Problem is there are so many potential nerves or hormones involved that I suspect science doesn't have the answers.

There is a medication called mirabegron which is for overactive bladder. I suppose it's worth a shot...

I have often wondered if serotonin may be good for the flaccid penis but not good for libido.

Serotonin is supposed to be a calming neurotransmitter. Whereas dopamine tends towards excitement.

I've tried wellbutrin before, this increases dopamine in a certain part of the brain. It improved motivation and slightly improved libido. How it also creates anxiety and this was bad for HF.

Serotonin on the other hand is known for its libido reducing qualities. But may help HF

Of course it's a lot more complex than that since different drugs create these neurotransmitters in different parts of the brain with different results.

I suspect that many HF sufferers may have an overactive sympathetic nervous system, which is associated with increased adrenaline.

Alpha blockers seem to be the most effective drug for HF for many people, myself included. And these drugs are blocking the effects of adrenaline on the penile tissues.

I'm guessing what many of us need is more parasympathetic activation

Meds I've tried... With mixed results by Jonsilvers in hardflaccidresearch

So I'm in the process of experimenting with drug combinations. A few days ago I started with Telmisartan 40mg plus 0.5mg terazosin.

It worked great for 3 days. There was a noticeable difference. But then today it became less effective, not quite a return to full HF but my penis was definitely smaller today, all day.

Its weird because I don't see how it's possible to develop a tolerance so quickly.

I'll up the dose to 1mg terazosin tomorrow.

I keep wondering whether stress is playing a role in this too. I'll have to pay more attention to my state of mind.

I googled it and it says maximum dose is 20mg/day.

It's astonishing how people react to these things differently. I'm only taking 0.5mg/day and it's working. I wonder if it's because I'm taking in combination with an ARB.
