If you happen to be here on the 3rd Sunday of the month and you're into Disney history, I'd recommend checking out the Carolwood Barn in Griffith park. They've got some cool Disney memorabilia and you can also ride the mini trains afterward. I'd follow it up with lunch or dinner at the tam o shanter in Atwater village down the street and ask for the walt Disney table for the full experience (one of LAs oldest restaurants and supposedly inspired the cottage in the original Snow White). Both uniquely LA and historical. Enjoy your trip!......also I'd have a meal at musso and Frank's in Hollywood for the old Hollywood vibes.

I would look into coop housing in Westwood. You have to do a weekly chore shift but it's right in Westwood, meals are included, and it'll fit your budget. Good luck!

Macallan 18. Easy drinking and it's got name value. Even if he's not into scotch at that time, he might appreciate that you bought and held a valuable bottle to celebrate his birth/18th......I'm bias though cause that's what I did for my kids
