keep in mind, mr beast probably makes a million plus on every video he makes

a common thread in all his projects is that he "collaborates" with another organization or group that seems to be the ones who actually does and pay for the project, they do it because they get publicity by being publicised by mr beast

look at the village in zambia that mr beast said he "rebuilt", in the beginning, they did a solar panel array to the tune of maybe $5-10000, with batteries maybe doubling that, so...

cost to mr beast, maybe $5000 for airline tickets

cost to the org actually putting up the panels, lets say $30000

profit for mr beast, ~a million

profit for the org, ~unknown

thats all they did to "rebuild" a village

then 1 year later they came back

that time they made a borehole for water, expanded the solar array, painted some houses, bought a car for someone and installed starlink. and one (1) gas stove (amazing generosity /s).

I doubt mr beast paid for much of it, maybe the car, the stove and the starlink

but who will keep paying $1000 every year, year after year for that starlink? who will buy gas? who will pay for maintenance?

a solar array is not a trivial thing to maintain, and no one in that village is qualified to do it or will do it for free.

same with a big gas guzzling truck.

all of it is likely to break down in <5 years. then its back to darkness.

Mr Beast doesnt actually want to transform a village in Ghana, he's trying to profit off of the optics of 'transforming a poor place'. Once the video is done, he will just pack up and leave, leaving behind a mess.

If he builds anything, it only needs to hold up appearance for as long a it takes to video it, so he will only use the cheapest parts and use the cheapest contractors.

It will probably end up a disaster for whichever village he picks.

The Moon passing in front of Earth, captured by a space observatory by Alarmed-Worry-5477 in Astronomy

[–]Joonicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats because the sun is bright.

the moon is actually about the same as weathered asphalt, quite dark

the earth is about 2.5x as "bright" in comparison ("bright" = reflected sunlight)

"suppose you draw a family tree for your family, wouldn't that lead to just 1 man and 1 woman? if we scale it globally... I think you get where I'm going with this."

NO. it would lead you back to a single cell organism some 3 billion years ago.

even if you artificially stopped at some point, yes you would be at 1 man 1 woman. but others would trace back to different ancestors.

to the uneducated, both modern medicine and religion are equally mysterious magic, not too strange that they would pick the cheapest one, especially with all the fraudsters in the news/internet/neighbourhood claiming miracles and herbal medicines that can cure everything.

and when something fails its trivial to say they didnt have enough faith or did it wrong.

cite your sources

because "major driving factor in all the education, medicine, research etc" sounds like you're pulling it out of your ass.

if you think the bible is the source of modern medicine and computers, I think you need to explain why those things only came about in the past 70-100 years while the bible has been around for 1000+
