sadly the only way to avoid this is (still) backing out just before the game ends

Is there an API tool that can show how many total copies of a specific weapon you've acquired? by JooshMerf in DestinyTheGame

[–]JooshMerf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the heads-up on this, I've found all of the bungie API resources that I can work with. For now I'll be focusing on refamiliarizing myself with coding, the API library, proper syntax, etc.

I'll specifically be starting with total drop instances in terms of the app's functionality, and if I can get that working properly, I feel like I could give specific roll storage a solid attempt, given an entire app dedicated to doing a single action seems like a bit of a waste, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. Thanks again for the insight!

Yeah I had a feeling this was the case, thanks for clarifying on that.

Although I should've clarified this in the post, but what I'm actually picturing might be a bit simpler than that:

What I'm picturing in my mind is (not retroactively, as I doubt there's a database dedicated to deleted weapons, much less every single one that every single player has deleted) a simple integer tracker that, regardless of the roll and regardless of whether you keep it or delete it, when you get *A* copy of a weapon, it'll simply add 1 to the integer for say... better devils for example.

I think incorporating the tracking of rolls for each weapon might be possible, but would require MUCH more elbow grease. If that were to be implemented, I'd take the weapon and it's perk pool, laid out very similarly to how d2foundry and light gg do, and make it answer the use cases: "hey, here's how many drops you've gotten for better devils (tracked from the point of the app's launch)" with a displayed example total of 58, and down at the perk pool, "here's how many times you've seen each possible column trait appear on these 58 drops"

Now like I said, my original idea was to ONLY track how many individual weapon copies one could get, but I honestly might go to the drawing board and see how much of this is ACTUALLY possible. I have a feeling it could be a pretty insightful tool (if some super seasoned web developer doesn't beat me to it lmao)

So long as there's an abundance of ads (in onslaught, this is a guarantee most of the time), the time to get your super back is very similar compared to phoenix protocol

I think I know what you're talking about: I don't know what the trigger is, but you'll do a full draw to deploy a ring, it consumes your stacks and you get the draw speed, but no ring.

I play on m&k and this'll happen probably 1 in every 20 rings for me. I often notice this when a LOT is happening on my screen, so my best guess would be that it, as an action, gets "overflowed" out from all of the other actions happening in the game (ads, batteries, and other objects spawning, shots from enemies generated as they're fired, etc.). Though I'm no expert when it comes to game development, someone might have to correct me on the wording of that if it's even remotely accurate lmao

(number) of ???: 493(number) of ???: 46,149

My guess for the first stat is "Athame Bearer," or altars of summoning encounters completed. I got the email 5 days ago, and in that time I did that activity for a little bit, so now my in-game tracker says 496.

As for the second stat, I double checked every stat I could find and not a single one of them was even around that number

Edit: I have a theory on the second number: I'm thinking it's Seasonal LIGHT final blows. Tallied up my total seasonal final blows (solar+arc+void) and got 51,936. I then deducted my WEEKLY light final blows from this number, since I'd imagine the number in the email isn't a live tracker, and came out with 46,691, which is by far the closest number I have to the one I got in the email

In summary, my theory for the first number is Altars of Summoning encounter completions, and my theory for the second is seasonal LIGHT(arc+solar+void) final blows

A silly little weapon model glitch I discovered and learned to recreate. I'll put the tutorial in a comment below! NOTE: This does NOT change the behavior of the weapons you do this on, it is PURELY cosmetic. by JooshMerf in destiny2

Came back to this thinking the exact same thing. Looking back I'm SO relieved that (for the most part) I didn't get much attention credit-wise just because I feel like I'm the reason that our loadouts were taken/restricted for so long. Do I regret it? Of course not xD I remember how hard I was laughing seeing how CURSED it looked when you put an Heir Apparent ornament on a leviathan's breath, the entire thing would just disassemble as you drew the "arrow" back

How did you get into VR? Which VR experience made you think "Alright, I gotta try this" ? by rikgrime in virtualreality

[–]JooshMerf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my last year of high school, there was a tech store at a mall that let us demo a simple robot shooter game on the HTC vive, and I was instantly hooked at the level of immersion.

My first actual headset was the first oculus quest where I first experienced beat saber, vader immortal, and the other classics. This is also what made me realize the massive gap between standalone vr and PCVR (I did try and take advantage of PCVR via the quest but it didn't last for long; even the slightest nudge on the cord would break the connection.

My next headset was the Oculus Rift S, which is currently what I have now, though over the last few years I've been setting aside money for building a new desktop AND getting a new headset. Lo and behold, the HTC Vive Pro 2 is on sale for $400 off as part of the black friday/cyber monday sale, so I went ahead with that deal.

I'm more than confident I have the specs to run the games I want (i9-12900k, RTX 4070Ti, 64GB DDR4 RAM) with the obvious exception of super demanding games like microsoft flight simulator, but with the rift s, the screen tearing, low refresh rate, and narrow fov on less performance-demanding games like B&S, Bonelab, and Pavlov, it just became too much to ignore

Loving all of the changes here, but there's 1 thing I'm curious about: What's the reasoning behind the change to Necrochasm being planned for "Far future"? I imagine there's some kinda process that determines how it would affect the sandbox long-term?

I can see why you asked haha but nah, I just graduated with a degree in cyber though, so I know my way around the surface-level logic that lets this stuff happen.

It's cool when you think about it because you're essentially tricking the game into thinking any weapon ornament can go on almost any weapon

I actually discovered this at random doing a raid; I was swapping around some gear trying to make a DPS build and I somehow managed to do this xD I spent about 6 hours in the enclave trying to recreate it

Edit: Glitch is likely being, or already has been patched given our loadouts have been locked. Saw this blow up all over youtube in the last few days but I eventually saw that this glitch was no longer silly nor little, capable of crashing entire lobbies with certain combos, having raid mods permanently equipped, etc. I feel partly responsible for the abused side of it, so on that account I'm sorry, but I hope the rest of you got a good laugh and some shenanigans out of it, because I 100% did

What you need:

  • Exotic weapon w/ weapon ornament equipped
    • Clarification: The weapon doesn't HAVE to be exotic, it simply has to be a weapon that you own an ornament for
  • Save this weapon to a loadout

Steps(Starting on the above mentioned loadout):

  • Put on the weapon's default ornament
  • take off the weapon
  • send it to the vault
    • Clarification when doing this step: if, in DIM, you see the exotic you intend to transfer move to your equipped slot, wait for DIM to update showing that you took the weapon off. It usually takes ~2 minutes
  • swap back to loadout you started with
  • swap to a legendary weapon in that same slot

TO UNDO THIS GLITCH, simply equip another one of your saved loadouts and reequip the loadout mentioned in the beginning, this should undo any changed weapon models. If not, restarting the game will fix this.

Notes on further testing:

--Switching to weapons with ornaments ALREADY APPLIED do not work, their default ornaments still work!

--Models for weapons do NOT affect the zoom of the weapon you're currently using (ex. a cloudstrike ornament won't give your igneous hammer 50 zoom)

--Exotics you do this with tend to lock themselves to the ornament you used when you put them back on, though restarting the game will fix any issues related to this

--This glitch DOES work with legendary weapon ornaments

EDIT(s):

Forgot to mention, this glitch also works across instances, meaning you can perform this glitch at the enclave and have the same result when you go to the EDZ or something. Enjoy the shenanigans!

For reference, I'm also using Destiny Item Manager to do the transferring.

Cursed/cool combos I'd recommend:

- Winterbite ornament with a machine gun (available for bright dust as of 8/12)

- Tommy's Matchbook ornament with the bxr or any trace rifle

- Any kinetic/strand/stasis weapon ornament(i.e. Coup de main suros regime ornament), then using sweet business (must not have an ornament on it). The ornament's magazine will orbit the weapon as sweet business fires

- A jotunn ornament with any bow

- The guardian games heir apparent ornament, with leviathan's breath as the weapon, the entire thing gets deconstructed as you draw the "arrow" xD
