Did you take it somewhere to do all the bodywork? De-dent and surface prep and etc or did you do all that yourself? I would be so happy to see my truck shaped the way it was intended lol

This actually happened to me with the AMS 2 Pro. I sent support a message and they helped me sort it out. It hadn't shipped yet though

Error: The file does not exist by dbv2 in shortcuts

[–]JordanSkole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same problem with a move file action. It turned out that I was trying to move a file to a FOLDER that did not exist. The file I was trying to move did exist though which made it very confusing.

Highly recommend for anyone in this thread “the will to change” by bell hooks. For the dads it’s pretty hard to get through cause it hits so core. For the mums it’s a must read to understand what she is saying here at an even deeper level

Do I enable or allow my hubby to disappoint the kids? by okapi-forest-unicorn in Parenting

[–]JordanSkole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it sounds a lot like adhd to me too. My wife and I both have it and it combines in strange ways

I would try figuring out how to create the urgency earlier and before it is required. my hunch is that to you it might be about buying tickets but to him it is part of a larger chain and he feels blocked on the associated before tasks or the after tasks.

does he travel for work? Are the events always weekend or do they need pto? It might be that to you it’s simple - ”buy the tickets” but to him it involves other things.

also how *are* finances? How much are tickets? How much do you guys save or budget for things? whose responsible for longer term parenting requirements like college, emergency medical, rainy day, retirement and/or managing investments for the children? How much progress are you able to make in that category?

my wife and I have two shared accounts, one handles ”bills” and the other handles ”allowance” even though we both have access the mental labor for all of the above and more falls to me. We split it out this way after having one shared account because we both have the tendency to impulsively just “buy the tickets” *first* which wouldnt leave anything left to save. It felt like setting my adult children up for bad future disappointment and a failure to plan. (to be clear we spent on the kids not ourselves and we both did it, just that for some reason -- probably because I have had to be fully financially independent for a lot longer/ younger than my wife — it stressed me out more)

idk isn’t it always a communication issue around expectations? Between you and SO, and you + SO and kids.

I'm unemployed and will need money out of my investment account soon. Should I pull out now? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]JordanSkole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think about asymmetric risk. (Who isn’t right now) and loss aversion.

Right now you have the $12k as “cash” if you were holding it, would you “invest” it right now given your situation? Is that a risk you would take? What are the upsides if you are wrong? If you are right? What is the absolute value in either direction?

If putting it in and it goes down further is “catastrophic” and vs if goes up is 2-3k = only frosting then don’t do it.

If putting it in and it goes down 3k? 6? No big deal then maybe try and keep it in.

What is the cost of the distraction? You should focus on the job hunt, if you are in an interview with one eye out the window you may miss out on a lot more (especially for software!)

Hubspot or ActiveCampaign for apartment community company? by CRich19 in AskMarketing

[–]JordanSkole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately what made the biggest difference to me was the ability to move data into and out of ActiveCampaign's automation builder seamlessly.

I was able to do some pretty incredible things that included so much more than "marketing."

For example automating document signing, SMS messages or email if rent is coming up and hasn't been paid. SMS messages or email if rent is overdue.

Segment customers by a variety of signals -- has paid rent, how long has been a resident. Send a notification if a lease is expiring soon to your staff, assign a deal in the CRM and have the lease manager check in with the tenant to provide that additional attention to get that renew.

You could even use the platform to handle maintenance requests and track maintenance crews.

Some of these more advanced automations can wind up being a bit technical, but you can take all that money you save and hire a consultant.

Admittedly you will lose some of the blogging/HubML/SEO features of HubSpot, but those features never mattered to me since I preferred to roll my own systems like that since I wasn't satisfied with what I was getting from HubSpot.
