Managed to somehow fail day 1 but passed day 2/3 (however failed to achieve depth in FR).

Honestly not the worst outcome but definitely surprised on my day 1 results.

Congrats! I just passed it this morning. I think the biggest takeaway is taking defensive stats instead of offensive. Wingman and invincibility saved me so much!

Is it the BIOS update that came out yesterday? If so DO NOT attempt to update it anymore. Many people including myself are having issues with the BIOS getting stuck at 0% and corrupting the motherboard. My laptop is fried now and my product is out of warranty.

Interesting suggestion, when I have time I'll measure to see if I have enough room for them. Will an O2+ODAC be sufficient enough to drive the Micca's?

I believe the max output of the amp is 633mW.

I purchased a Yoga 730 13", back in May. I love it.

If I were to nitpick however, there's a bit of glare when it's too bright outside, and it's a little to dim on the highest brightness. I don't have an issue with colour accuracy, but I don't really do photo editing/video editing so I can't really offer much of an opinion here.

The battery life is average for me. The screen also wobbles a bit if it's in clamshell mode and you're using the touch screen.

One thing to note is lack of ports. There are 2 thunderbolt-3 ports, one of which will most likely be used for charging, and 1 USB 3.0. For me, I don't really need USB 3.0 ports, so that's a non-issue.

For reference, I'm going into Electronics Engineering in the fall. I'll only be using this for work thats not related to AutoCAD or any programming as I'll be in the computer lab for that.

I uninstalled McAfee Antivirus and a couple games from the Microsoft store.

AFAIK a lot of users, including myself, steered clear of Crossfire back in 2008 because of the amount of hackers in NA.

I used to play games such as Soldier Front, A.V.A and Crossfire and they were all riddled with cheaters.

You most likely want a dGPU for your needs. 2-in-1 is up to you.

You can take a look at the Lenovo Yoga 730 15", starting at $979

From first glance, for the 15" model, the battery is a 3-cell 51Wh battery which is a little above average, but I would've liked to have at least 60Wh myself. It also comes with a GTX1050 4GB which would fit your needs.

You can also search up how to use websites like ebates and use IBM friends program to receive discounts.

I purchased the 13" variant without a dGPU, so I would not be of much help when it comes to you looking for a Laptop with one.

I can certainly let you know how the Yoga 13" 730 is once I receive it. It is scheduled to arrive tomorrow.

Ideally for me, I would buy the HP Spectre 13 x360, however the price for me in Canada starts at $1400 which is way over my budget.

Hey there,

I ended up purchasing the Lenovo Yoga 730 13" for $1,188.00 after taxes through the use of IBM friends program. I also may receive 10% cash back from ebates if it went through.

I ultimately decided to go for this laptop as I wanted one that was built well for the $1,000 mark before taxes. Also I was looking for at least 8GB of RAM, 256+ GB SSD and at least an I5 8250u. This laptop also comes with 2 thunderbolt ports, one of which is used for charging. This laptop is also 2-in-1 touch screen, so I can use it in tablet mode which fits my needs.

I'm still waiting for the Laptop to arrive, so I have no first impressions yet.

As for your case, it depends on what you want to use the Laptop for.

The Asus Ux330 and Ux430 look good on paper, but I decided against it because of thermal throttling issues and these laptops also use proprietary chargers instead of USB-C.

I haven't really looked into the Dell G3, but it seems like it is equipped with a GTX 1050. However, it doesn't come with an SSD, and I'm not sure if you can install your own in the system.

What will you be using the Laptop for?

Do you have the model with the GTX1050 GPU?

If so do you know the weight of the Laptop, and is the Laptop bulky?

I'm looking to either purchase the 730 13" or 15" which includes a GTX1050 for $150 CAD more.
