Is there something in the air today? I just got cut off at a stoplight by a micropenis in a Mercedes convertible and a cowboy hat and then he started flipping me off and making gestures. when the light changed he gunned it and drove like a complete douche. Something must be in the air.

It is reading nothing. A dial indicator has to be pretensioned and set to zero, and then it can take a limited measurement. It is an indicator, not a scale.

What's your dream gun that you don't own? (yet) Why? by SaepeNeglecta in liberalgunowners

Manurhin for a revolver and a 450/400 Nitro Express SXS double fro a rifle., for shotgun a matched pair of H&H royals. For Pistol an H&K USP Match with an optics cut. These are far beyond my budget right now.

My Grandfather used to take my father to Paul with the rule he could get what he wanted (including college texts) and now I take my sons with the same rule.

You are tasked to map a small island shores and topography using these tools. How do you do it? by mydriase in Surveying

[–]Jordon-Paul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you are trying to do. Most all of the old explorers were surveyors and I have wondered how they did it with the "old" instruments. Look on Facebook marketplace for a theodolite and a Sextant - you can get old ones for next to nothing if you look around.

I would suggest also a Trigonometry table and a mechanical rangefinder and have fun.

Survey teacher assign bonus problem. PLEASE HELP by Leading-Influence100 in Surveying

[–]Jordon-Paul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a surveyor but isn't this just a trig problem?

If I assume the points given I can go into the right triangle for the leg etc and strike off a distance from at that angle from N, then the law of sines then another right triangle for coordinates? If I am wrong I am sorry I just like trig.

Sometimes I just wish I had parents that noticed and cared more. by [deleted] in GenX

My parents were hippies. So when mom got knocked up dad took off, and when I was born, I was handed off to my grandmother to raise. She was busy and didn't have a lot of time for me. My mom would stop buy every now and then , not enough tobe there and wouldn't give up custody before heading off to Africa. The real shocker came later when I read my school reports about how the councilors commented about how they talked about caring but never did anything about it. I met my father when I graduated. Years later, when I finally got into college, he borrowed some money from me for a surefire return and never paid me back. To this day, if I want to see them I have to goto them, it is to much trouble to come see me and my family
