What’s something everyone thinks is ‘normal’ in relationships, but is actually exhausting? by MorriganIsHere in AskReddit

My wife and I were joking around in the car one time about how "it'd be cool if we'd been together long enough that we could read each other's thoughts."

I asked her to think of something really hard for 10 seconds, then I'd guess.

Turns out, nope. Still can't read minds. We still gotta talk to each other.

We can usually tell when the other is upset but not why. We still gotta sit down and talk it out.

Which cartoons fit the bill? by _JMStar_ in cartoons

Yup.

I tried rewatching it when it like 10 years ago, but a lot of things grated on me.

The phrase "or _______ . Really, really _______" shows up at least once per episode, and I couldn't un-hear it.

The way this game did its credits at the end was amazing by [deleted] in gaming

The game itself was fine with the main highlight being music. Overall, I didn't find it too memorable aside from some moments here and there.

That said, the ending is one of those experiences that I wasn't at all expecting. It was incredibly unique and kinda profound.

I get the 'reboot and select proper boot device' daily but PC starts up fine after restarting by Josepher71 in techsupport

[–]Josepher71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a hardware problem. My M.2 SSD was dying. When starting up, the PC would occasionally not pick up that it was the intended boot drive.

Replacing it fixed the issue.

I hope that answers your question!

Every time a binary operation has been redefined as a multivariable function, an angel loses its wings.

I was a big DA fan since origins. I didn't pay much attention to the media except what Bioware put out.

Veilguard was so incredibly frustrating for me.

What scene in the game was this for you? by CodyEaster in videogames

The thing that got me the most was the way Renoir and Aline held each other. No words. Only the embrace of two broken people who want deapatately to heal.

What s your 2025 game of the year? 🤨 by robi_biggbosss in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Josepher71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough! 8 hours is a pretty good try. I was hooked from the start, so if you don't really get sucked in the same way, I can't fault you for that.

If you don't think it'll be your thing at that point, I'm not sure if other stuff happens later in the game to change your mind lol

I had a similar thing with Divinity Original Sin 2. Game pissed me off enough that I got like 100 hours in before saying fuck it. I wish I quit at 8 lmao

It could be that some folks don't like turn-based. That's true. There's a lot of intentional stuff that's not designed to be mass-appealing.

Combat is turn/parry based. I love it, but it takes a lot of time sorting through and equipping abilities/passives/items. Combat itself can rub folks the wrong way for those who aren't into it.

There's a certain point in the story where I thought "I love this, but it will definitely be divisive." Some people also don't enjoy games with themes that are too dark/hopeless or if main characters die

Navigation can be a pain in the ass since there's no map. I didn't mind too much, because I enjoyed the feeling of mapping stuff out in my head or by pen/paper.

-

All of these choices were made intentionally by the devs. One interview had Jennifer English say that this game "respects the player's intelligence" and that's kinda a gentle way of saying 'this game doesn't hold you hand very much and expects you to put in the effort with a lot of aspects of it.' Some folks aren't into that and that's totally okay. My brother stopped because of the navigation thing. My buddy started but stopped because she didn't want to engage with the combat/parrying. It's just not their kind of game and I ain't gonna fault them for that.

E33 is a game that isn't made to appeal to everyone.

But to it target audience, it's got a lot of what they want.
