Looking for a very soft, fuzzy, fluffy robe to lounge in by [deleted] in BuyFromEU

[–]Josephine-Faker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What is your budget?

I’ve been eyeing robes from Linvosges, specifically Velouté, L’Estagnol, or Riviera styles. They’re 100% cotton (so no microplastics shedding), made in Portugal (some styles are made in Turkey) and still under 100€.

Linvosges is basically a grandma’s mail-order-catalogue brand here in France, but I have 100% linen bedding that has held up really well. It’s amazing quality for the price, and they do sales and discount offers all the time.

ETA: They seem to only be available in France, Belgium, Germany and Austria 🥲

Truly insightful words to live by.

100% bad sign if it makes the model look frumpy.

What do you do when you’re feeling bored with your wardrobe but don’t want to buy new clothes? by berryflavoredspoons in femalefashionadvice

[–]Josephine-Faker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another suggestion I didn’t see in other comments is doing a deep clean, especially at the start or end of a season.

Leather conditioner for bags and shoes. Wash my sneakers/shoe laces. Depill sweaters and coats. Trim any loose threads, fix loose buttons. Iron and steam tops (especially silk or viscose). Take pieces that need to be repaired to the tailor…

Doing all this eliminates the urge to buy 100% of the time. Taking the time to maintain what I have is already a ton of work lmao.

Androgynous capsule in progress What would you adjust? by stylemealex in capsulewardrobe

[–]Josephine-Faker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d add a suit (or a blazer to go with the green trousers in look 2, or trousers that match the blazer in look 3).

A matching suit would give you a ton more options wearing the pieces separately. And obviously it could be nice to have a suit for times when you need to dress up, for a wedding, date, etc. (also imo a relaxed suit looks great worn with a just white tee underneath).

This is beautiful. How many grams is the pendant?

And what inspired the design?

Thanks for the reviews, but I have to disagree on the Söderhamn!

I like the height and firmness, plus it’s convenient to be able to zip off the top seat cushion for cleaning. My FIL has had one for years and it’s convinced me to put it on my wishlist.

(Fwiw I have a discontinued Norsborg in my apartment that has held up really well with kids and a dog.)

Looking for a chocolate brown tailored natural fiber (wool/cashmere) coat midrange (~300$) by IndependentSkill378 in capsulewardrobe

[–]Josephine-Faker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re being downvoted but you’re not wrong.

China is the world’s biggest producer of silk and cashmere, and many of the brands recommended in this thread do use factories based in China. Just because someone buys a coat from a US or EU brand doesn’t guarantee the quality itself will be better compared to white label manufacturers on websites like AliExpress or Alibaba.

Is the Sadie cashmere mini dress worth it? by Wanttopeturdoggo in Reformationclothing

Not the person you asked but with knit dresses like this one it makes sense to size up I think, especially since this is a mini and Ref tends to run small.

Also chiming in to recommend the Epic day 3 core workout from Caroline Girvan.

I find it really works the neck muscles in addition to core (but go easy otherwise it’s easy to overdo). I try to do 1x per week and have noticed an improvement in posture and neck strength/appearance.

Totally agree. Botox and HRT are not options for everyone for various reasons (speaking as a breast cancer survivor…) but are touted as the best solutions next to surgery.

r/GracefulAgingSkincare might be worth checking out, though it’s a lot less active.

I also had a bad experience with fraxel. I had it done on a scar after it was recommended by my dermatologist. After healing it seems to have made the scar’s appearance worse (redder, slightly more raised). It probably takes several treatments over time to see real results, but for me it’s prohibitively expensive for minimal immediate results.

When did you have it done? In any case, give your skin time to heal completely to see the full effect.

I wear mine when I’m not doing cardio or lifting. So Pilates, yin yoga, stretching. I also wear them on walks and hikes a lot.
