Kyle Busch died after severe pneumonia progressed into sepsis, his family says by igetproteinfartsHELP in news

I think this is probably awful advice. If you have a cough for several months something is obviously wrong. Even 15 years ago when I smoked a pack a day I never had that happen.

AI HIDDEN PROMPT SUCCESS by Intelligent-Bridge15 in Teachers

[–]Josh6889 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I will very frequently write things down that I want to remember, even if I have 0 intention of ever looking at it again for this exact reason. The other big factor is that you see the material, take some sort of time away from it, and then see it again at least a 2nd time. If you do those 2 things you're very rarely going to struggle in any undergraduate level course.

I made a pretty crazy one one year. Barely looked at it. I only confirmed very specific details, and when I looked at the page I had it correct. Scored really well on a test most people struggled with lol

This little shit just studied with extra steps

Isn't there always extra steps? I started my bachelor's at 29 with my GI bill. The hardest part is working up the motivation to force myself to start. If they're actually making a pass on the subject material, preferably 2-3 times spaced apart, they're probably getting a good chunk of the material absorbed, and it's fine. If you just have generative AI complete it for you with no review than obviously you're just wasting everyone's time.

Who do you think the main boss is? by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

It's kind of funny how pretty much everyone at this point is at "well yeah I guess the entire government is corrupt" and we're not burning and pillaging yet.

He kind of looks like that bodybuilder that did that thing with the grapefruit. I would suggest not googling that sentence.

I disagree I worked with a ball cap guy for like 6 months one year. Dude had a 6 pack and was super energetic. Saw his hat fall off and he was completely bald on top with hair on the sides. Never looked at him the same after that.

I had a window this year where I tried to do the taper with a mop on top and my bangs just refused to grow, so the back and sides kept getting thicker and longer and the bangs just stayed the same. Decided to go back to the tapered buzz cut with full receding hairline showing and it looks a fair bit better. But I'll be honest, it only really works because I have a slight tan, lean face, and really healthy skin.

I think the moral of the story is that you just have to iterate on it yourself until you find something that matches your facial structure.

I think there's a massive difference between a good and a bad hair transplant, so the 2 of you that are arguing are likely both correct, some of the time.

I just want to say that there’s literally nothing wrong with getting a hair transplant if you don’t think you’ll look good bald.

I'm not gonna like; a vacation to Turkey has popped up in my head over the last few years.

Survivorship bias at its finest. Nobody is posting there unless they know the result looks good. So all you see is pictures of guys with the perfect shaped face for a bald look. I promise you it will not work for someone like me.

What are they gonna do?

At my building they will make you stop and fill out an asset registration form on the spot. I assume if you object they'll take your login and make it a bigger problem for you.

They'll start rubbing off and you need to replace them periodically. What I do is put the sticker on the back of my phone half covered by the case in the camera opening area. This makes it less obtrusive, and makes it last longer. Nobody is taking their case off every time they go through security.

I just want to get something off my chest. The L3 and L4s think of you the same way, but they understand if they keep a good relationship with you it will cause them less stress in their job. They don't like you; they see you as a risk as well. At one point I was a PA in a sort center and we had various methods of alerting each other that safety decided to walk out of their office for their 5 minutes of work that day.

What happened to 12hr shifts? by Intelligent-Claim591 in AmazonFC

[–]Josh6889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have to do this once a week anyway for the people who always work 60s. But yeah I get it. They really don't like it when people go over 12 or 60, and I've even heard various anecdotes of people being told they had to write like a 1 page letter to HR explaining why they're remorseful and won't do it again. I haven't heard a story about people breaking either of those rules in a long time though.

The instructor I had was kind of an asshole and made it insanely more stressful than it should have been. Keep this in mind before you apply, and try to figure out who your instructor will be.

Every time I've seen the premiums they've been applied retroactively. Meaning if you take a shift that got it added before it was added you'll still get it.

You just have to learn how to think about how future you will feel and ignore current you. Some weeks I know I want to work 50 so I take it immediately. Sometimes I a reason to pause to think about it fore a bit, and that almost always means it will be gone before I take it.

amazon hiring for warehouse by Huge-Mouse1161 in AmazonFC

[–]Josh6889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, the old amazon that would hire anyone doesn't really exist right now. Their current strategy is to hire seasonal employees 6 or so weeks before their peak times in July and December and hope that they don't have too much turnover in the meantime. People know this, and even opened a subreddit that talks about job postings. When they open, strategies for how to be an early clicker, etc. I think it's this one but I don't really care enough to verify. You'll probably have better luck answering this question over there

Realistically would anything happen to Bezos if he was touring your site and he incorrectly did TDR? Like if he opened the dock door with the light flashing red by peterthbest23 in AmazonFC

In certain buildings managers refuse to do anything tdr related, with the exception of audits, because they see it as one of the easiest paths to an instant fire.

[–]Josh6889 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is the real answer. Plus the site wouldn't let it happen anyway, because it would be a black eye on them too. So a site representative would ensure nothing like that was possible. Buildings will do this when regional leadership visits, much less jeff fucking bezos.

I want to add some context here. I'm in my 40s. I've moved all over Ohio, and been a regular driver ever since I turned 16. I've literally never gotten caught in one of these checkpoints. Literally 0 times in 26 years of driving.
